how to change primary user profile name?

title says it all. it uses my real name and i would love to change that rather than having to make a different profile.

Make a new (windows) user account. That is where it comes from. Probably not the most efficient solution.

You can make other secondary user profiles with custom names instead. They will be stored in your 'Documents\Arma - Other Profiles' folder.

Just make a new profile. It's not that hard.

You can't change the primary profile, because that's just how the game works. The engine has over two decades on it, and it made perfect sense way back then.

1. Go to "Documents\Arma 3"

There you can find 3 files with the user name:

Test1.3den.Arma3Profile
Test1.Arma3Profile
Test1.vars.Arma3Profile

2. Rename them to the profil name you want

Example: Change "Test1" to "wombit"

Test1.3den.Arma3Profile > wombit.3den.Arma3Profile

OR

2.1. Make an Backup from the 3 files and do step 2, then copy them bock to the arma3 folder

3. Start Arma 3, in the Launcher go to "Parameters"! You can now change between "Favorite" and "all Parameters", there you can find the point "Profil", activate them and choose your profil, which you want use!
