This game is not to be taken lightly, it is a simulator for alot of things, and not so much others, it is complex and yet still forgiving, it has a high learning curve so theres ALOT to learn, i been in the series since it started (2001) and im still learning, lol
Fo zombie mods, Ravage and Zombies & Demons mods are the tops, there are others that are good too, its a popular genre in the community, so theres nothing lacking there.
The Contact DLC is not like any other DLC. They literally had to break the game to make it, which is why it comes in two parts, and like the GM DLC, is the only other optional DLC in the game.
Both the Contact and GM DLCs are out of place, not developed by BI, and should never have been released. All the other DLCs integrate into the game seamlessly.
The one DLC that I consider a "Must Have" is the APEX DLC, which is an expansion of the game. If you have no interest in flying planes or helicopters, then you don't really need the Helicopter or Jets DLCs. You can still ride as a passenger in helicopters and jets without the DLC, you just can't operate them. The same is true for the Tanks DLC.
Part of the issue is that you can still access DLC content within a mission, even if you don't own the DLC because they incorporate the DLCs into the game (except for the Contact and GM DLCs which are optional). When that happens you get a very nasty advertisement across your screen informing you that you do not own the appropriate DLC, effectively making the game unplayable. Many people will buy the DLC just to avoid the annoying messages.
