However, for the best multiplayer experience, the consensus seems to be that Apex Edition is your best bet right now, and that's what I got.
Apparently everybody uses the new map it comes with, and it has a ton of content. It also includes a bunch of DLC like helicopters and marksman, which I hear are very good. (And karts, I mean...karts!)
What I also found out, is that the Ultimate Edition scales depending on what you already have. I got Apex Edition, and now Ultimate is ~$37 I think? So if, like me, you want to play the game first before deciding to plunk a huge chunk of cash on it, you can probably complete your collection when the next big sale comes around. :)
Apex Edition is the best "all around experience" though, without including a ton of "Mixed Reviews" DLC you might not even be sure you want yet.
From what I've gathered, you can get Apex Edition, grab near-limitless mods, and play with just about anybody without running into a ton of "You need this DLC!" pop-ups.
If anybody who's actually played the game has any insight, it'd be most welcome though. XD
Hey, you're very welcome! So sorry for such a late reply. I hope you're enjoying the game! I'm glad I could be helpful. :D
I'm having a blast with it so far, it's awesome!
