ARMA 3 - FPS BOOST GUIDE
All the stupid things like: Turn off VSync ♥♥♥♥, Lower Settings, add -nologs to startup parameters are useless, people that think this affect the game performance are just stupid and should go back to CoD or damn altis life.

there are only 2 things, that increase your FPS if youre running on average of about 15-20
- Add -high -exthreads 7 -maxMem=<your RAM divided by 2> -cpuCount=<cpu cores> to your startup parameters (im using 6 for AMD 1100T)

- USE ANOTHER MEMORY ALLOCATOR

the default ones Suck
Get this one:
https://github.com/fred41/tbbmalloc_arma
(the binary_nolog one)

put it into steamapps/common/arma 3/dll

and add -malloc=tbbmalloc to startup parameters
thats all, i was on 15 fps (30 players server, King Of Hill gamemode) now im on 45 fps

Btw, Users that say "get a better PC" if you're asking why your FPS is so low, should get cancer or being raped .

ticks me off a little when I saw all those "amazing tips to boost fps" that were just changing the damn graphics settings to low, maybe this will make a difference for me.

The problem is, that Arma 3 runs badly on some high end pc's
mine is running idle, when i play arma 3. cpu is 20%, ram 30% and Graphics is 60%
but the game is lagging like ♥♥♥♥

if the game would take the available resources, i could play it on my "no the newest" system on ULTRA 12km distance 5760x1080 60hz , with acceptable FPS
but no, BI just dont know how to program correctly.

Now the FPS guide is working sometimes, sometimes not. atm i have 9fps on 40p KoH server.
There is no reason why, its just the worse code that slows down everything

Thanks but it didn't work at all for me. I'm still getting not more than 16-20 fps like before.

Cause all start parameters are such useful like Cancer. No command will help you cause Arma´s Engine isn´t optimized. This commands spreads like a cure all over the world. But they are all working like a placebo. Ridiculous.
GrapeFruiT Apr 17, 2014 @ 12:18pm
Yeah true , they dont really work or doesnt perform anything better. Like you said. A Placebo. Sad the engine isnt optimized.

Exactly. Even as last week Nvidias Performance Driver was released which increases the fps in BF4 by 44,9% compared to the previous driver. BF3 gains 39% more fps. And a bunch of other Games reacts to the new driver, EXPECT Arma3 => gain: 0%
I hope the community will someday wake up and stop to spread such ridiculous and useless "FPS-Gain Tips"

Thank you.

I'll have to try this out

Dude, you're my fluffing hero .... it worked as you said, I went from 10 to 39 fps. Thanks a lot.

Update: I just try this with the other arma games and it seems to work too. Can anyone else check if it works?

No change on King of the Hill for me. Was not really expecting any tho, the FPS of multiplayer in Arma seems to entirely depend on the server and this is a client side optimization.

It might help if your client is the limiting factor, but in most cases I imagine people are limited by how fast the server updates the simulation.

For example, I get 70fps at the Kavala hospital in the editor, and on my normal KotH server it is locked in at 24 FPS regardless of settings.

Hey gamerpaddy, I was wondering, I do not see the binary no_log dll one. Is all there is are: Binary and binary_safer_deref. Which one should I use?

binary
