People still use memory allocators?
Haven't used one in a long time, but personally I have no problems with crashing or anything like that in the game. What are the other benefits of using a custom one? and what do you guys recommend?

I've had more crashes after 4 hours of gameplay with that memory allocator than tbb4malloc_bi or a custom one (tbbmalloc). "Win7 System malloc best," my @ss.

For the use of the custom memory allocators, the biggests factors are certainly how much memory you have, if you use AMD or INTEL CPUs and whether you play with AI.

A crash after 4 hours of playing is just a sign of overheating.

I think this reply is about the progress. M$ has optimized the memory allocators since Win7, developed up to Win10x64, and the integrated are pretty functional. From case to case, tbb4malloc_bi or tbbmalloc can be better.

I've had this issue before and after I OC'd my CPU, so I doubt its overheating. Add in the fact that I have my Memory Page File at 16GB, as well as 16GB of physical RAM, and I still got crashes using the default "System" malloc.

It's not so much of a crash as the frames dropping to 2-4 FPS. I have to reset Arma 3 after that to regain my framerate. My bad for not explaining it better.

Yes, I have an older AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE, but I can still run higher-end games like Hitman: Absolution for longer than Arma 3.

is it a ddr3 system?

Yes, DDR3. Still shouldn't be an issue, since DDR4 wasn't out yet when Arma 3 was released in 2013.

a core i7 5775c with good ddr3 rams beats ddr4/6700k

tcmalloc_bi gives me the best fps.

i will bench now on ultra and then change the the version to 1.60. i had there more perfomance

I'm currently using tbbmalloc, so idk how that would compare to tcmalloc_bi.

My PC specs are on my profile.

just use YAAB and bench every malloc. it jsut takes 15 mins of your lifetime for all mallocs

the fact that you say you doubt its overheated is sign you dont even watch your temps....sry
