Arma 3
CPU Overclock for this game
Im averaging about 30fps in non combat, and 20 or less in full combat on my current CPU, a Pentium Dual Core E6500 @2.9Ghz.
This is certainly playable for me, I have gotten used to it, and its really not bad after a while. However I still would like to boost it if I could, and was wondering if overclocking the CPU to say...3.5ghz would make a difference? Since its a dual core would that alter anything? Has overclocking been done for this game before? I have a decent GPU (afaik) its a Radeon HD 7700. Thanks!

I have a I5-6600k, and overclocking it from 3.5ghz to 4.5ghz made maybe a 5fps boost. This game isn't really optimized at all, considering it rarely uses more then 50% cpu processing power. Sadly, there isn't much you can do to get better fps in this game. I get about 40 fps not in combat, and 30 in combat, with a GTX 960. This game isn't optimized, and we're going to have to wait for Arma 3 to see anything above 60 fps

Doing a quick Google search lead me to the Intel website about the specs of your CPU. It does not have the option to turbo to a higher clock, nor does it have HyperThreading. It was also released in August 2008 (by comparison, my AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition was released in December 2009), so it already an old processor to run Arma 3 (so is mine, lol).

I don't know if you can OC that CPU of yours, but you should do a search to find out before frying your chip, motherboard or both.

You have no idea but you post about it on the world wide web.
