Arma 3
Fisheye aspect ratio - triple screen (surround nvidia) issue
I have triple screens and they are set to surround nvidia to span all monitors. However i run ARMA3 on 1 monitor (1920x1080), and after the big update i managed to play for a little bit and when i went back to the menues something happened and the aspect ratio is now making the game look like through a fishlens. I can barely see the settings but with a lot of patience i can see the resolution is still set to 1920x1080. And worst thing is i cant seem to find the aspect ratio options that was in video settings before the update where you could choose any aspect ratio and even triple screen ratio. I checked the arma CFG and i see nothing about aspect ratio there either.

Only solution to turn surround off now? Maybe BIS forgot to include the options after the update? But it worked perfectly fine before the update the way i have the monitors setup with nvidia surround.

I think this is what you're talking about.

Add both calculated values to the ArmA 3 profile configuration file [your_profile_name].Arma3Profile
Default location of a file "%userprofile%\Documents\Arma 3 - Other Profiles\[your_profile_name]"

No, its not what i talk about, but thanks. ARMA is automatically changing my aspect ratio to "fisheye lens" for some reason and there is no way of changing it back since the options that was there before where you could change aspect ratio from a drop down is gone now. I could fix it by turning the both side monitors off (nvidia surround OFF), but it worked with it ON before. So i dont know if they removed this option knowingly or if its a mistake. Dont know why you would want to remove an option that can help people.
Interesting. Is this happening in windowed mode as well?

No problem in windowed mode, but i lose vsync in windowed so i had to turn off nvidia surround. Just dont know why the aspect ratio drop down options are gone now. But at least its working now even though i have to click around in windows for a minute before i can play lol.

check resolution in Arma3.cfg if those are right then its your fovTop and fovLeft that are set wrong in <name>.Arma3Profile as Urbanfolklore suggested.... Aspect ratios are fixed... you cant just magically change an aspect ratio without changing the resolution/dimensions of an image. Its that or Nvidia changed something on how it handles multi screens.

Well ARMA3 worked before in triples. And they had the aspect ratio selector. No one remembers that?! Arma.cfg is correct for triples. The fisheye thing happens when you change something in the video options and then you are f*cked until you reinstall ARMA. That was not a problem when we had the aspect ratio option. You know: wide, 4:3, TRIPLES...
is your desktop setup as a triple? given how quirky Arma 3 is wonder if that might be the cause. good example. mic and sound are locked to your OS's config. Like I can have multiple monitors but that doesnt mean Im using them all as even a 'desktop' workspace. Also using true fullscreen or maximized windowed mode?

Yeah im setup as nvidia surround. And the funny thing is that it worked perfectly until i did something the video settings. It might have been that i clicked to reset video settings or something like that. It was a mistake as i was clicking around. And immediately i got that compact wide screen fish eye lens kind of style. And no matter when i click resolution/fullscreen/windowed back and forth to fix it, it just wont come back.

The first time i used triple screen (before one of the updates) there was the aspect ratio selector in video options that had been there since forever, but now i noticed it was gone, and when it was there before i could click "triple screen" and get perfect aspect ratio over the 3 monitors.

So, im using surround to treat all monitors like one. Works great in all other games/simulators, but not in ARMA3 anymore. I havent had the energy to turn surround of and test. I might do that, but i rather i didnt have to as i will only have to do that then for ARMA3 and no other titles.
yeah so you have basically one giant extended desktop now... Try setting it up as full screen windowed, then use this FOV calculator http://hia3.com/tools/ArmA_3_wide-angle_FOV_calculator_online_by_Hi,A3.htm remember you need to use the width of the all 3 screens together. This is why I dont like how arma deals with radians for viewing angle for configurations because humans dont use radians to describe angles.

It also might be that you'll never fix it and that arma updated the code for their cameras and thus broke them (and just happened to be around when you were messing with settings). good luck.
side note... try testing both fullscreen modes they arent handled the same likely.
Yeah i think they broke it tbh. I'll test at some point. Thanks man.
