How do I use the Javelin
I've had it through the RHSUSAF mod and have been looking at bmps and all that stuff and I don't get a lock on.

1. Make sure the vehicle has ENEMIES in it.
2. Have Ammo.
3. Press F to toggle fire modes just in case you are trying to Dumb-fire missiles.
4. Press T when on guided/Lock on mode.
5. Fire.

This is late but the vehicle also needs to be giving off a heat signature. If you just placed a vehicle in the editor and tried to lock on to it, if it never moved, then the engine never turned on and it's not giving off enough heat for the missile to lock on.

Typically the kind of details I love to see in Arma...

Both answers above are incorrect. Target vehicle does NOT need to be running or warmed up for a lock on. Does NOT even need to have an enemy inside. You can place an Empty or crewed vehicle down in editor or Zeus and it will work the same. Doesn't matter even if it was a blufor or opfor vehicle (I've only test with empty blufor vehicles, I don't recall ever testing if Javelin will lock on when a blufor player or AI is inside the vehicle, but I will guess it doesn't matter either). Btw, you can also take down aircraft with the Javelin AT (AT rockets work fine, do NOT need to use the AA rockets) but I have never tested with jets, only helicopters, and I don't know the limitations or how it compares to a stinger. I have 7000 hours in arma 3 and nearly 5 years in arma 3 milsim, so I will explain how to fire Javelin AT.

- make sure Javelin is loaded with a rocket
- right click to bring up the display screen
- toggle to IR mode with 'N' key (2 different versions, both work same, must be in IR to lock on).
- aim at target (page up / down to zoom) and hold down 'Tab' to lock on, don't release Tab until after you fire rocket.
- Wait for lock-on. You will hear the audible beeping change to a single tone and on the display one of the icons with light up, I believe the one that says "SEEK". Anyway you will have no doubt you are locked on.
- Then simply left click to fire. Once you pull trigger and fire rocket, you don't need to do anything more. Don't forget to clear your backblast. If there is someone behind they will be hurt. If there is an obstacle or wall behind you, you will be hurt. Enjoy the fireworks.
**TAB is the default key for locking on with Ace-Weapons. T is the default key for locking on with bohemia/vanilla weapons. With Javelin, you are using Ace lock on key. Both keys can be changed.

Thanks, man, it works already. My problem was a try to launch Javelin without IK-mode. You the best!

It doesn't need to me in IR to lock on. I've barely used the IR for javelins. Also, I'm in game now, and it will not lock on, full of troops and not running.
I got on just to see if anything is different now and I disagree. I don't know what you are using compared to my experience, but with the RHS Javelin I am unable to lock on unless it is in IR mode. And the vehicle does not need to be running or ever have been running in order to lock.

does anyone know how i can fix the issue of not being able to go into thermals with both ACE and RHS javelin?
