Creating a more complicated ACE Medical system?
As the title above states, Myself and a few others have been discussing the possibility of creating a more complicated medical simulation for the ACE 3 Mod. It would focus primarily on providing a higher level of Medic Simulation then what is currently in ACE, with a secondary focus of a more indepth wounding system.

It would truly be a another step forward for the ArmA realism community, giving a further purpose to mods such as AAPM as well as making medic's and medical evacuation teams in a unit a truly valuable asset.

Would anyone else be intrested in such a thing?

As AAPM's head developer, I'm also interested in a "Super Advanced Medical" for ACE3 that creates a more comprehensive, and dare I say comprehensive version of the ACE Medical System. I feel the "Advanced Medical" is half-baked in a way. The developers wisely chose to make it realistic, but they did not make it fully realistic. Perhaps they feared that such a realistic mode would be too polarizing - too extreme.

AAPM demonstrates that there is some cross-section of the Arma community that appreciates such realism with no concern for things like arbitrary game balance. Realistic is Authentic, and I think a lot of people out there appreciate ACE's realism and will appreciate an even more authentic model that truly captures the medical experience and justifies the use of even the smallest hard armor inserts in AAPM purely due to the vulnerability of the vital organs. According to the 1989 FBI Ballistics Study, the destruction of the Heart is a fatal wound that takes 10-15 seconds to fully manifest. Currently, ACE Advanced Medical does not represent that.

The issue with Advanced Medical as it stands is that it lacks nuance - precision. What we're asking for - what we want... is the proper introduction of this nuance not through a polarizing revision of ACE Advanced Medical. We're talking ACE Super Advanced Medical.

Along these lines (but not exactly) is the consiquence of being wounded. While I am not exactly looking for a more detailed medical or wounding system there should be consiquences OF being wounded. Perhaps a wounded right arm should add horrible shaking while aiming. Chest wound, horrible stamina to run. etc. This could also go as far as weapon hits will cause the weapon to drop to the ground. It could also disappear, thus simulating a destroyed weapon. Just some things that I would like to see as well.

Agreed, although these major injuries should only be the result of an injury to a major organ. Mere grazes should not be of major consequence. These major organs and arteries should be modeled as their own internal hit geometry within the new Super Advanced Medical. This can be done through placement of the hit geometry within the approximate center of the person's model.

If that is possible that would be AWESOME!!

do you understand that system like that may render the game to be totally unplayable unenjoyable? Ok, let me rephrase. Ofc you can play this. But it woud be a sheer masochism. Because any serious wound would stop the unit dead on tracks - and you'll have it aplenty in a CQB f.e. 10 min of fight - and you'll have to magically PAK ppl, or everyone will be dead in mere minutes. Hell, you need magically PAK ppl even now, or they cannot hit a barn side fron ten yards after having a wound.
This Dslyexci video can serve as an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMWHVSW_21k.
Though this is heavily modified basic medical, it would be even worse with advanced.

This is the game after all, who want a real experience can join the army.

There is another medical system that was/is being worked on that is hoping to do exactly what you guys are talking about. I am not sure what the current state is as some guys I used to play with were assisting with the backend work. But it is based on the older XmedSys....

I'm willing to assist with it if possible. I'm good with configs.
