AAPM demonstrates that there is some cross-section of the Arma community that appreciates such realism with no concern for things like arbitrary game balance. Realistic is Authentic, and I think a lot of people out there appreciate ACE's realism and will appreciate an even more authentic model that truly captures the medical experience and justifies the use of even the smallest hard armor inserts in AAPM purely due to the vulnerability of the vital organs. According to the 1989 FBI Ballistics Study, the destruction of the Heart is a fatal wound that takes 10-15 seconds to fully manifest. Currently, ACE Advanced Medical does not represent that.
The issue with Advanced Medical as it stands is that it lacks nuance - precision. What we're asking for - what we want... is the proper introduction of this nuance not through a polarizing revision of ACE Advanced Medical. We're talking ACE Super Advanced Medical.
Agreed, although these major injuries should only be the result of an injury to a major organ. Mere grazes should not be of major consequence. These major organs and arteries should be modeled as their own internal hit geometry within the new Super Advanced Medical. This can be done through placement of the hit geometry within the approximate center of the person's model.
do you understand that system like that may render the game to be totally unplayable unenjoyable? Ok, let me rephrase. Ofc you can play this. But it woud be a sheer masochism. Because any serious wound would stop the unit dead on tracks - and you'll have it aplenty in a CQB f.e. 10 min of fight - and you'll have to magically PAK ppl, or everyone will be dead in mere minutes. Hell, you need magically PAK ppl even now, or they cannot hit a barn side fron ten yards after having a wound.
This Dslyexci video can serve as an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMWHVSW_21k.
Though this is heavily modified basic medical, it would be even worse with advanced.
This is the game after all, who want a real experience can join the army.
