Background

The 20th Armoured Infantry Brigade was founded in September of 2015 by friends without sufficient time or hardware enough to fully commit to a proper MilSim unit- but still want to play professionally as a part of a team. Currently numbering 29, we are building up the unit step by step, further improving our experience.

Mission

Our current aim is to provide a professional unit that realistically recreates the role of British Armoured Infantry. In this role, the FV510 WARRIOR sees use within the section for the infantry to fight with and out of.

We are also well versed in dismounted infantry tactics for varied operations, and for operations with other units where the use of Warrior wouldn't be necessary.

Our overall goal is to create a unit using realistic British SOP's as best as possible, whilst also having plenty of fun and banter.

Who we're looking for

We are looking for people who are motivated to created a unique milsim experience. Since we would like to create a realistic representation of the British Army, we'd love to find personnel with previous military experience, with experience in Armoured Infantry and the usage of the Warrior IFV, and those with leadership and management experience. As it is, we currently have a few members who are current or former service members of the British and various NATO Armed Forces. If you would like to advise or help out, please give us a shout.

*Sub-Unit Training is conducted at each sub-unit commander's discretion. These may be run simul to a CIC.
**CIC stands for 'Combat Infantryman's Course' - a 4-partǂ training course split into two (2) phases. We start off with basic keybindings and by the end of the course you will be qualified in both light role and armoured infantry skills.
***Brigade Trainings are held every Wednesday from 1930-2300 UK time, and are required events for regular members.
†Official Operations are conducted every Saturday from 1930 UK time, until either the mission or the players dictate an ENDEX. If the unit is in a Home Rotation (HR), it will act as a second weekly Brigade Training night.
ǂPhase 1.1 has a time limit of 45 minutes; Phases 1.2, 2.1 and 2.2 have a time limit of 2 hours. Each session must be completed before a member can pass out as a Rifleman and gain full privileges and membership.

Enlistment requirements

- Must be at least 16 years old.

- Must be able to fluently speak and understand English

- Must be mature and able to listen to your superiors.

- Must have a working microphone and be able to connect to our Teamspeak server.

- Must have a legal copy of ArmA 3.

- Must not be a member of another ArmA 3 community or MilSim Unit.

I joined when the unit was being setup, coming from units who claimed to be British based units but were swamped with American procedures, until I joined this unit. It goes into detail of standard British battle procedures, medical procedure, uses ACRE 2 which I now very much prefer and it teaches you how to do things properly, like a MILSIM should.

Amazing bunch of dudes. I've been playing Arma since 2012 and have been in a fair share of units, but when it comes to milsim the 20th AIB takes the cake by far.

Just finished training this past week.and let me tell you guys this is professional fun! this unit is accurate, realistic, not overburdened by the wrong side of milsim (stupid amounts of paperwork, TS chain of command, and all that other BS), but tactics, engagements procedures are all spot on and are fantastic. I would highly recommend you stop by and have a chat with a recruiter, the ops and trainings are fun, the people are excellent overall i have found a milsim home.
