Arma 3

Multiplayer - Hosting and Joining friends. (Known as ''Server not Responding'')
So, me and all thoose who I know has this issue, they can host, but cannot join or have people join their servers, by steam or in-game browser, we had it ever since GameSpy went to hell. I'm about starting to have enough, I just maxed ArmA 3 out and cannot enjoy a good multiplayer game with my friends without having to use some **** software like Hamachi, Evolve or Tunngle, It is just alot of hassle.

I have an USB Net, wich means it will allow anything to get in and get out, the firewall/antivirus protections is the only wall. I've struggled around with the firewall for along time way back, and nothing worked, I've only heard thoose with routers getting an ''Hoooooray!'' and I will not waste my money on a stupid router that I don't need and will probably not work anyways on my net.

So please, if you can un-**** this problem for me, I will be god-like.

-We have tried PortFowarding.
-Steam's Own Browser.
-IP/Direct connect.
-Searching for names, hosting with pass.
-Changing Port number. (2x default to choose from?)
-Even gone as far as to search on Google for answers. (appears to only be solved for thoose with routers)
-Using server hosting softwares.

And IDK what B.I is up to, but I would count this as an important matter, because it breaks a big part of the game, to host a game flawlessly. I've seen B.I posting ''links'' to portfowarding and their so-called ''Guide Page'', I can read it 100 times over, no matter how I do it, it will simply not work. I actually tough B.I would have solved this, I also see alot of others having multiplayer problems or even the same problem, and they are probably thoose people without an ''router''.

So for the god of love, what do we do?

Yes, tough I can switch from 3G to 4G and vice versa at will, me and my friend tried to connect to me, and me connecting to him, non of it worked, he has an modem or atleast a more solid net than I use, he tried portfowarding but his net did not allow it. Also, I have been able to check my own status of the ''join game in progress'' option in Steam to see if the server was up, still down that way.

So I used the IP thingy and got this...

When Using suggested IP:

2300/tcp filtered cvmmon
2301/tcp filtered compaqdiag
2302/tcp filtered binderysupport
2303/tcp filtered unknown
2304/tcp filtered attachmate-uts
8766/tcp filtered unknown
27018/tcp filtered unknown

2300/udp open|filtered unknown
2301/udp open|filtered cpq-wbem
2302/udp open|filtered binderysupport
2303/udp open|filtered unknown
2304/udp open|filtered unknown
8766/udp open|filtered unknown
27018/udp open|filtered unknown

It seems like my computers IP adress is nowhere to be found, so I assume it follows the ISP or Net.

Tried to find a page to ''trace'' my location, seemed acces denied. Not sure if software or else.

what do you mean by your computers ip? you don`t expect to find 192.168.x.x on that site, right?

What matters is your "public" ip,the one everything outside of your home uses to communicate with your machine.

Portlog seems fine,2300 still closed tho, needs to be opened.
once you`ve done that, download TADST to host a dedicated server on your machine and let people join OR open up the other ports i mentioned on Page 1 of this topic to get ingame-serverhosting working

Added more ports to the firewall, and still its showing the same results. Enabled traversal for all ArmA 3 ports too, going to test TADST next.

I used TADST, and tried port 2302, and steam querty port 8766 and when i start the server, the log tells me steam query port is 2303 and not 8766, and my server did still not appear in the server brower, only in ''Lan'' mode. Added all IP's to firewall, in all kinds of ways.

So as I have said, my other games work fine, and I have right to belive that there is something else behind all this mess, I can only relate to GameSpy.

gamespy did all the NAT/Forwarding for you as a service,Steamworks needs this whole port business set up by hand once.

I forgot to mention port 2303 UDP i guess, once you have opened that (confirm with that website) your server will appear in the Serverlist (and be joinable) IF you use TADST

Theese are all the ports i've setup for both TCP and UDP, in and outcoming connections.

2300-2302, 2302, 2303, 2304, 2305, 8766, 27018.

you do not need TCP at all here (maybe on port 27018 but it doesn`t seem to be tied to hosting dedicated servers on ArmA),look at this picture,it contains everything in one frame

Used a software, I checked my ports, it says they are either closed or not reachable, do you think any softwares can block this? Advanced System Care? I have some tight security, but not sure what is causing it.

I use

Advanced System Care 8.0 Pro
Panda Cloud antivirus
Malware Fighter
Driver Booster (Possible driver screwup??)

What the website says is more important i think since it pings you from the outside.

The description of Advanced System Care 8.0 Pro is kinda vague,no idea if it locks down ports,Panda should only check memory and files so i doubt it is involved in this (same with Malware fighter). While i deem tools like DriverBooster as useless,it does not interfere with your ability to use the internet and thus can be ignored in this.

What i would do now is this:
Look at the picture, write down all the ports, see if they are set up the same way on my machine.
Check every single port on the mentioned website and see if they are really open.
Host via TADST and see if the server (named in a unique way) shows up in the serverbrowser (this can take up to 2 minutes!)

If yes: yaaay

If not:disable ASC 8.0 Pro & repeat,if yes:see above,if not: disable Panda and try again
rince & repeat in the next run with disabled firewall

Will take some time, but ill do it.

Note: Driver Booster has caused me bluescreens in the past, so i strongly recommend not using it.

(When i did it it shows exactly the same as the wide wariety of ports i posted further up, so ports are portfowarded)

I disabled Panda While doing it, still dident work, and closed down advanced system care and cannot see it so i belive its shut down aswell, still dident work.

Running out of ideas....

Now in Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings -> Remote Sessions

It is off, I remember turning it off because I tough it wasent anything to use, and to be on the safe side, could this option affect anything?

thats just remote desktop stuff, doesn`t matter in this case.you verified that 2300,2301,2302,2303 UDP are open, correct?
