Arma 3 Multiplayer Troubleshooting
I am able to successfully launch the multiplayer for ARMA 3 and enter the server browser. A few problems arise when I try to join a server. I previously was getting a message stating, "failed to connect" about 50% of the time I tried to join a server, this has not occured in a while (a while being my last few attempts to join a server) but I felt it was worth mentioning. The primary problem is that my ARMA 3 does one of two things upon joining a server: crashing to desktop with no error message/logs and giving me a message that says BE Client out of date. I may have fixed the crash to desktop problem by deleting some Phyx folder and verifying my game cache to reinstall it but the message stating my BE Client is out of date continues to appear. I have been trying to join mutiplayer servers for a few days now and am getting very frusterated at the lack of solutions to my problem online. I have reinstalled the beclient.dll folder NUMEROUS times and it doesn't work. My game IS NOT out of date and IS NOT using a dev build of any kind. Please avoid answers telling me to do the obvious, as I feel as though I've tried that MANY times. Thanks for the help and I hope my issue gets resolved soon!

If you are certain that the BEClient.dll located...

?:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3\BattlEye

...is up to date. Try checking...

C:\Users\*yourPCusername*\AppData\Local\Arma 3\BattlEye

Make sure there is a BEClient up to date there.

Okay, well that didn't work. OOHH and I should mention that I have a screenshot of exactly what it says in my screenshots. You should be able to view it.

Okay, I've not seen that before. It's related to BEService rather than the BEClient, which in that screenshot is up to date.

Have you read the FAQ here?[www.battleye.com] You just need to scroll down a little.

You should find the BEService.exe at...

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\BattlEye

Question: Would deleting the Battleye folder under common files and then launching ARMA 3 to install it work?
Manwith Noname 2014 年 10 月 28 日 下午 7:47
Apparently that's what Battleye suggests but if you look at your screenshot, it knows the BEService needs updating and so it shuts the game down to do it, or at least it says it's going to shut the game down. If it does not download an update then it is either being blocked by firewalls and/or anti virus, or the server it's trying to contact is down.

Still, make a backup, put it somewhere safe and delete the original folder. Not going to do any harm and you can always place it back.

Edit: If it doesn't work that way, try verifying cache through steam or doing a complete re install, deleting all Arma 3 folders around your computer....but remember to make backups of anything in them you might want to keep.

Edit 2: Found this.[forums.bistudio.com] Though I'd still make backups just incase.

Just so you know, I've reinstalled 3 times. I'm gonna try to fix my battleye

Yeah, but when you reinstalled, did you manually remove all Arma 3 folders? Most of them outside of the main install will not get removed and so may not get updated.

Okay, it works now! I had to disable my antivirus entirely to play. I made exclusions for it so I didn't think the antivirus was the problem, but it was blocking it somehow. Sorry for the trouble and thanks for the help, I couldn't find ANYTHING about this online!

Cool. What Anti virus out of curiosity?

Also, when you say you set up exclusions, for BEService? or Arma3?
Fumblez 2014 年 10 月 28 日 下午 8:30
Arma 3 and the client.dll file, although setting it up for the .exe is probably whats wrong. Oh and the Antivirus was malwarebytes
Manwith Noname 2014 年 10 月 28 日 下午 8:38
Yeah, set up an exclusion for the BEService. Hopefully that will mean you don't have to shutdown Malwarebytes everytime you want to play Arma, though you'll probably be good until there's a BE update now.
