Hosting for coop
Hey guys, So I'm having trouble getting my brother to see the games I host for some co-op.

I know it says I need ports 2303 and 2302 forwarded, and have done so on my comcast modem. I go to canyouseeme.org however and it says it can't see me because it times out. That sucks. Is that why my brother can't see the game I host? Is there a direct connec option? Can I change the port to somethinig that is open by default in Windows? The Steam ports?

BTW, from the main menu I click Play - Multiplayer then "new" down at the bottom and select "internet." Is there an easier way or is this correct? Thanks

We have the same problem. BTW, here is a page where you can see whos on MP. Great to use if you try to fix the problem with host in a game and want to see if you have managed to create a server: http://arma3.swec.se/server/list
Me and my friend installed Evolve so we can play trough LAN instead. We have not tryed it out much, only some minutes yesterday. https://www.evolvehq.com/client
Hope this help.

thanks for your help!! I lucked out though and for some reason it has started to work. he can find the servers I host. Now it's just figuring out how to not die by laserbeam fire @__@ Ai is intense on some of these games. Also thanks for the evolve tip!

You can try some of my missions. They are not so hard :) How did you manage to host a server then?

Much trial and error. I had to turn my linksys router into a dummy switch and disable DHCP (use only the LAN ports not WAN). Then I had to call comcast and they had to reset my modem so I could get to the interface. Then Found the right IP addy to send the ports too and it works. canyouseeme.org still doesn't see me but whateves, shootypew with the brother :D

Hey since you make missions (ill give yours a try!) do you know if there's a way to alter AI difficulty of other missions? This into the fog one looks fun but...lasers...lasers from AI :crossbones:

I have tryed everything with port forwarding and new rules in the firewall but now I give up. Hopefully the next game I buy have nothing to do with Steam.

Sorryyou haven't gotten your issues resolved, especially since this game REALLY needs it's community. I wouldn't judge too harshly on Steam as it's mostly just Bohemia Interactive - the Arma guys. They're great really, it's just such a complicated game it seems to always have lots of bugs. Arma3 is leaps better than 2 was though. I really like it TBH, and the workshop has made it a lot easier to get into the user mods - but it's still a pain to get a good group of guys together and not be reliant on fighting AI =/ But that's preference and you can't fault 'em for that. :fsmg:

It is absolutley a fantastic game. I only wish they could at least try to help us with a easy way to host a game. But until then I will use Evolve trough LAN. Because I use a lot of time making missions (without mods), it would be cool if someone suddently join when I play them mostly alone :)
