cannot disable reduced damage

i want to use rhs and it tells me to disable the reduced damage in the game option difficulty tab. When i click on it it is disabled and i save, then i close the window and reopen it to confirm but its checked on again... i thought it cant be done ingame so i did it in the menu but still no changes. Why is that so ?

Try changing something else and save it. Then come back and change that something else to previous settings. Trial and error with other settings. It's a weird workaround.

that worked thank you - i changed ai skill and some hud elements seperately and together with the reduced damage until it finally clicked
