Arma 3

ARMA III Start-up issues (HDMI and whatnot). Can anyone help?
Okay so for starters, this game used to run really well on here. But recently I decided to attach a second monitor to my laptop (Asus ROG w/ NVIDIA GTX 660M) before playing ARMA 3 so I could have the web open on the second monitor (Small Panasonic TV) and problems ensued.

I connected it via HDMI, set up the resolution on the TV, and launched ARMA III. It immediately launched the game on the TV (not what I wanted) when launching in full screen. When I go to the "configuration" menu and choose "windowed" and drag it over to the laptop screen, the mouse no longer lines up with what I'm actually clicking on. When I then manage to click "Full screen" it pops back up onto the TV. I tried "full screen window" or w/e and the same thing happened.

I then unplugged the HDMI and launched the game in full screen JUST on the laptop. The logo and "Loading profiles" etc. window popped up and did its thing but once it had finished and disappeared, nothing happened. I checked Task Manager and it said ARMA 3 was running as a background process. The game never launched. When I launch in Windowed mode, the mouse doesn't line up again.

Also if I change from windowed to Fullscreen when the HDMI is not attached, the game disappears. Funny thing is, when I attach the HDMI at that point, BAM! there it is on the TV.

So to summarize:
Laptop/no HDMI + Full screen= starts up but wont actually launch.
Laptop/HDMI+ Full screen= Launches on TV
Laptop/no HDMI + Windowed= Mouse doesn't line up, can't click things
Laptop/HDMI+ Windowed=Windowed on TV

Lastly, it seems there is no audio anymore in either windowed of Full screen.

I know this is a lot of text but it is a really annoying and stumping issue. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks a lot,
Nightmare Fuel

Sounds like you are running your laptop and TV screen at different resolutions, which explains why when the game opened up on the TV (and was subsequently moved) it didn't scale properly and there you then you have the mouse issue. Just a theory. Can't you just duplicate what is on your laptop screen to the TV screen when you play? I am pretty sure there is a windows hotkey for it. The alternative is running everything at the same resolutions (your laptops resolution). ARMA is one of these weird screenlocky games. try ALT+ENTER to move it about instead of windowing it.

But why would it run it as a background process?

Hmm, either a driver issue or something is actively suprressing it. A quick google search may help you here.
