Arma 3
Battleye Initialization Failed - Driver load error (577)
Hey Everyone

Recently I bought a new PC, specifically for the purpose of being able to play ArmA 3 at top notch quality (ok, maybe so I could actually play other games as well). Anyway, on my old PC I had no problems with the game, it ran low quality about 25 fps, I was happy.

I install ArmA 3 today on my new PC, and it installs battleye but then comes up with the error:

Failed to initialize battleye: Driver load error (577)

I am confused. I have rooted around and think it is something to do with the BEService and BE_ArmA 3 Exe and this is my current theory:
My new PC has the standard Hard Drive, which I am using for steam and games etc, and then an SSD which I am planning to use for the OS and all the small applications that I can use quickly. However, ArmA is installing the Battleye folder onto my SSD, when the ArmA directory folder is on the hard drive. Could this be what is causing it? My friend suggested moving the battleye folder onto my hard drive instead, but I can't because I don't know how to change the directory the ArmA 3 Launcher is pointing at to load, so It'll read where it thinks battleye should be, find it not there and just install it again.

Sorry if this is confusing, need a fix to this so I can play the game again :/

Specs (In case they are important)

i7 4790k @ 4Ghz
GTX 980 Ti
Samsung EVO 128GB SSD
WD 2TB Hard Drive
Windows 10

Thanks in advance

I'll just paste this in from another thread I replied to:

Norton & some other AV's have been tagging BE as a trojan, nothing to worry about (false positive). If thats the case try adding the arma 3 folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3) to the anivirus exceptions. Also add this to the eceptions:C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\BattlEye

You could also try:
Library>arma3>properties>local files>verify the integrity of game cache.
Or
deleting the BE folder in the arma 3 folder, then start arma & it should DL the files

When launching the game I get a “Failed to initialize BattlEye Service: Driver Load Error (577).” error. How can I solve this?

You are most likely using a stock version of Windows 10 Home or the bugged pre-release Windows 10 Insider Preview build 10074. To fix this please search and install all available Windows updates.

When launching the game I get a “Failed to install BattlEye Service.” / “BattlEye Service installation failed.” / “Failed to start BattlEye Service.” / “BattlEye Service startup failed.” / “Failed to initialize BattlEye Service: …” error. How can I solve this?

Something on your system prevents the installation/startup of the BE Service, which is required to play on BE-enabled servers. Please ensure that any security software (anti-virus, etc.) running on your system doesn’t block the BE Service (both BEService.exe/BEService_x64.exe in your game’s “BattlEye” directory as well as the entire BE Service directory, which is usually “C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\BattlEye”) in any way. You might have to add it to your security software’s exception list. If that doesn’t help or you don’t use any sort of security software there might be a permission issue with your BE Service directory or the files within it. To solve this delete the BE Service directory (usually “C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\BattlEye”) and then try to launch your game again. If you still get the same error at this point please try to manually set the BE Launcher in your game directory (usually the executable file with “_BE” at the end) to run with administrative privileges (normally this should happen automatically). To do so right-click on the BE Launcher executable, choose “Properties”, go to the “Compatibility” tab, check the “Run this program as an administrator” option and click OK to apply your changes.

If you still can’t get it to work some unknown software running on your system might be blocking BE somehow. If you cannot determine the cause we can only suggest a reinstallation of Windows.

Ok....

Windows 10 I bought on a memory stick from windows themselves, but some updates simply aren't updating. I go on windows updater and there are a load of updates but it is stuck at 9% on one. Not sure what causes that.

Verifying doesn't work, ran through that process already

I am using the stock Windows Defender... anyone know how to make exceptions for viruses or what not?
Situation resolved. Windows updated itself and fixed the problem.
