Arma 3

is there anyway to change the fov in first person?
i used the arma 3 fov changer but its not working. Besides from screenshots i noticed that it changes only the distance of things you see. i dont know what its called, but some mice have the additional 2 buttons, usually theyre called back and foward. the game assigned the zooming out to the "back" one. does anyone else have that ?

I have a razer naga, with arma 3 buttons bound all over it. My "2" and "3" buttons are dedicated to zooming (- button and + button on the numpad).

I can't check what I used at the moment, but when I press the button it "sticks" (doesn't revert to original FOV). This method of zooming I use on my mouse is only applicable to binoculars, vehicles, long range scopes, etc. It works for normal zoom but doesn't stick the same unless I hit it twice quickly.

You un-zoom by hitting the minus-key on your numpad and you minimize the FOV back to normal by hitting the plus-key one time.

Edit:
- The commands are actually there but seem to be hardcoded, ask the devs for a option to configure it.
- It is often easier to use a USB-Keyboard with a Numpad when you must have this feature.

Wrong step, guys.
Go to C:\Users\USER\Documents\Arma 3 - Other Profiles\YOURNAME
open the .Arma3Profile file (not the vars one) with Notepad++ and jump to line 689
Paste:
fovTop=1.03;
fovLeft=1.83;
Thats a 90° FOV I use calculated with the Arma 2/3 FOV calculator.
It won't get you banned, don't worry. I use it since a year or so. But keep in mind , that everything gets smaller, so I'm forced to zoom in when shooting precisely ;)
