I keep getting this error and cannot play the game. with mods or base build. Nothing changes. Help?

The wonderful world of the internet has gotten results. Here's a possible fix from the official BI Feedback Tracker Forums:
"it seems that game has trouble read from your profile folder on C drive in documents folder due some restriction.
Could you please try?

Create folder named test on another drive than C drive
Start Arma 3 Launcher
Go to Parameters>All Parameters>Advanced>Profile folder
Tick Profile folder and select folder test on your drive which you have created already
Click on Play button in Launcher and game should boot into main menu in default settings
Quit game
Copy files from C:\Users\mehdi\OneDrive\Documents\Arma 3 into YOUR DRIVE:\test\Users\NAMEOFYOURGAMEPROFILE\
Game should start with your settings and savegames if you click on Play in Launcher"

That error is related to Microsoft Onedrive. It messes with your profile. And somehow it is not working as it should. Personally I just disabled it.

I uninstalled it in Apps.

But you can also disable that OneDrive tries to sync your Documents\Arma 3 folders. This is a pinned message in the official Arma 3 discord, Arma3_troubleshooting channel:

Here's My fix to OneDrive or Cloud (drive) error on Arma 3:

Go to Documents or C:/Users/[Your Username]/Documents and set these two folder to 'Always keep on this Device' (it will show the option if you have OneDrive on).

Unfortunately I can't paste the image showing the folders and right-click contextmenu. You'll need to look at 'Documents\Arma 3' and 'Documents\Arma 3 - Other Profiles' and right click on them if OneDrive is still installed.
