How?
It comes to mind, that there is another software that you are using at the same time while you play ArmA3. So there is the possibilty that the other software can causing this. Possible, the other program consumes too many ressources.
I have made a thread about the fact that the previous version of Win10 was causing a blackscreen, when the customer was in the fast ring for the updates. At least it is fixed for me now.
If you really want to solve this problem, you have to post your hardware specs, OS and the 3rd party software you are using.
Ram: 16 gb ddr3l
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming
OS: windows 10 64
As I said previously, I had no more blackscreens since the Windows Anniversary update. ArmA3 likes fullscreen mode over windows-modes. Even performance wise.
The easiest way to avoid errors on your side, is to refrain the switching during the gaming. It has been reported, Steam functions can have a negative effect on running games. The Chrome browser with a few tabs opened can cause memory-hiccups.
The usual suspects are: Mods, scripted multiplayer missions, outdated drivers, third-party software such as recording, streaming, FPS-booster, overclocking, teamspeak etc...
You have to limit the error by disabling one after the other. After that, you can try to reproduce the error exclusively with the problem software.
Frequent unexpected shutdowns can cause damage to the file system -> Repair Windows.
