Getting error "Waiting for a different process to release the cache lock"
I have been running several dedicated arma 3 servers and for the past day or so some of the servers I have won't start up have and just have
"Waiting for a different process to release the cache lock"
spammed over and over in the log file.
Nothing on the machines or the servers were changed before this error started to occur.
The only solutions iv found is to either reboot the server box it is hosted on or move it to a different machine. This error occurs regardless of the mod or mission setup. I am unable to find any process running that would be effecting the server and can move or rename the server files/ folders around without an issue. The only things online iv found was a post on the BI forums where they were blaming BI for the issue and a pastebin of someone else log file showing the same error message spam.

Here is a snippet of what is shown in the RPT log

Type: Public
Build: Stable
Version: 1.86.145229

Allocator: Windows [] []
PhysMem: 64 GiB, VirtMem : 4.0 GiB, AvailPhys : 29 GiB, AvailVirt : 3.9 GiB, AvailPage : 55 GiB

Any one else running to this issue or have idea what could be wrong.

Is your server upto date? My server only just updated

According to gportal the latest update is causing some servers to hang in the start up so it sounds like a issue with the latest version

Hello,

Remove -cpucount from your command line and see if the server starts up then.

Also if you have specified a custom malloc remove that as well.

We had the same problem on our system and within 5 minutes had it fixed.
