Loadout not on server game.
Hi, I have been learning about making games, i have watched utube vids, and learnt a lot, BUT I can not figure this issue out. So I go host server, setup up that. choose the map, and create a new game. put down the firt player, right click edit loadout , go through , and than save it. click ok. back to the den editor, right click set atribute to playable, save, all looks good . Save it. both in both folder under the same name.

so here is the problem ......
If i set up a few more characters , and follow the above same steps. but dont setup the multiplayer settings which means no respawn. go back and host it. we have myself . wife lan connected , and friend internet connected . all of us once we get in have the loadout,

But, when i save that same map and characters with the multiplayer settings. respawn and revive
save all that . add a spawn point, activate it , blufor enabled. save all that . then host it . when we all get in. we are all in the default gear.

at first i thought it was a Mod so i rolled back each one re tried , the whole process over, always the same thing. so i unistalled the entire game . and reinstalled. I have NO mods installed at all. followed the above creating characters , and again . host with MP setup, the loadout doesnt load,
help please !! thank you for reading.

update - please keep in mind I am fairly new to arma 3 I have sucefully setup and hosted games, but this is one problem I cant finf the answer to.
i am not running any mods (as above removed them in reverse order till all were removed,

now i just have just the basic game and the following dlc`s arma3 jets, helicopters, karts, marksmen, Apex, laws of war, malden, zeus, ops mission pack, tanks.

My apoliges if above seemned confusing and this will be a long post.
I am trying to show the exact steps i used in case i messed up the order , or missed something completly ?
I have gone through youtube, the forum, and can not find this exact issue.

please read through "everything" i will do my best to try and walk through it as painless as i can,

I will start with. creating new game, following a video i watched on you tube -
From the menu. I choose multiplayer , server broswer, host server.
** i select LAN rther than internet, not sure if that makes any difference but for the purpose of acurate in info ***
choose password
cant tick upnp ( not available on Lan or not needed )
host server
Map Tanao
new 3d editor and select play

(( does anyone know if it makes a diference doing it this way,or if you just click on the editor from the main menu ? ))

(( now we have new map no characters all fresh ))

first character I put out - F1 selected, blufor - Nato - men - sharpshooter (( I chose this as this is the actual rifle i want to use. how ever I want to add - muzzle , backpack, and I generally remove the hand gun and its amo as i never use it ))

*again i am not sure if things need to be done in a particular order . eg, should the multiplayer setup be done first , characters done first. should atributes be changed and saved before load out ? but here is the order i have done this in.

have my character rezzed out - sharpshooter - right click, edit loadout.
(( i will chose only a few ites in case you are following. but i have choosen random single items just in case eg , added just a silencer, checked same issue, deleted , added a backpack same thing. , so i do not believe its an "item issue" and remember i have just the main game and the listed dlcs ))

for this im just adding the silencer and a carry all backpack.
gun - MK-I EMR 7.62 sand ( default gun for this character )
sight - AMS Sand (default )
rail - IR Laser pointer (default )
Sound supressor 7.62 sand (added)
Bipod Nato sand (default )

everything else is the same as default, only adition is Caryallbackpack MTP
click save name it loadout1 and save.
click ok.

and we are back in the editor. everything looks good thus far.

* i watched a video about loading loadouts, it showed copying the file into init eg - right click - edit atributes - object Init- varable name - lone
posted the content in the window below. didnt work. *

Just to clarify - we have a new map, new character sharpshooter
gone into loadout - kept everything as is. just added the silencer and backpack.
back looking in editor . all looks correct.

now i right click on go edit atributes.
object control - tick playable
object States - skill 100%
click ok.

still looks good. click on save. opens the window folder MPMissions save it as tempload

*** at this point I can go top menu - play - play in multiplayer -
role asignment screen - select the only character listed . i just setup click ok.
loads the map click continue -
loads , and were all good.

*** I can host this remembering i have not setup a respawn , and have not setup the MP atributes and again just to avoid any conflicts or clear and game cache , i click the save icon , go all the way back to main menu - multiplayer - server browser setup another server. Just to be 100% I did this both, internet , and lan . no errors , no issues , ***

But as above we have no respawn and have not setup mp atributes either.
Go all the way back to main menu - MP - serverbrowser lan setup - choose file and editor.
place down a respawn setup, for blufor active . save it . go back and re launch as host . select character , and game loads . all gear is correct. So its not the respawn causing the issue.

The problem is when I setup the MP settings.
so all the way from the menu server - host - editor . go to atributes - multiplayer-

Game type - Combat patrol.
min users 0
max - 4
Sumary - blank
enable AI ticked
auto assigned slots unticked.

Respawn - respwn on custom positon
rulesets - select respawn position - ticked
- show respawn counter

*** I tried ticking Select respawn loadout. but that didnt seem to do anything ? ***

Respawn delay 5 secs
show scoreboard - ticked
allow manual respawn - ticked
enable team switch - ticked but greyed out.
allow AI score - unticked

Tasks - sharded objectives Disabled

Revive - enabled for all players.
triat - none
item - medikit

everything below is left default.
still in the editor , everything looks fine . remember I want silencer and backpack. I see them on in the editor. but NO mater if I go up to play - play in multiplayer , or go right back and host and play at the respawn menu. bottom right . it allways says. loadout unspecified and will be chosen auto matically . and when i go in .. back in default gear, no silencer , no backpack.

I am 5 days into this and my mind is full from other posts, not related , and outdated videos where they select or put things in old editors that have changed, please help. I am not a scripter, I am learning with arma, so if there is a script i need to change or alter please include folder locations etc. thank you for reading, I know its a long post. but this is driving me insane !!!!!



yeah your player gets respawned after you choose spawn, anything in initialization only loads on mission start not everytime that unit loads.
open up notepad and make a file called initplayerlocal.sqf in that file paste the following text. put this in the mission folder

* in the multiplayer settings enable allowing players to choose their loadouts. then they can pick any virtual arsenal loadout on spawn in.

Hi, Thank you so so much for replying. I followed your steps and while yes this now has a loadout bottom right on the respawn screen, (( whish i could insert screen shot here ? )) but only shows the following - firstbox -1 option - Sharpshooter ( thats the one I created,) when i click details, it brings up only the default gear, which just lets add or remove those items. am I supposed to be seeing other gear than the default ?

Heres what i did.
open new notecard , copied and pasted the above.

then i went back into editor - opened the tempload - atributes - multiplayer-
ticked , sellect respawn loadout - ok
save

am I still missing something ?

Did you test functionality by loading the mission in multiplayer and testing spawn?

I think you are asking , have i run it since i have made the script and saved it and added sellect respawn loadout ?

Yes, again in the editor all looks good, player with the loadout i want. ( silencer and backpack )
when i run it - in the editor - play - play in multiplayer , or host a server its the same thing. yes there is the "loadout" on the respawn screen bottom left, BUT default gear and when i hit respawn , its the default loadout.
