[SOLVED] "UNABLE TO INIT DXGI" - Game Freezes
So i have bought Arma 3 recently because i have already played this game but the problem is that the old version i had worked fine, this steam version just freezes on the main menu (sometimes it doesnt but it just take 2 to 5 minutes to freeze even if i am in the menus or just playing) is there anyway to solve this ? because i cant seem to find a solution, the only log i got is just an error everytime i close the game with task manager which is "UNABLE TO INIT DXGI"

not only that, the game works very badly and it used to work well before i bought it.

i have all GPU drivers up to date and already verified the game files, and i dont seem to find any other solution by myself.

UPDATE :

Solution 1:
Putting the number of CPU Cores to the same amount you have on your CPU in the Arma 3 Launcher (The one that opens before the game) seems to have fixed the issue, in my case was 2.

Solution 2:
You can also try switching to the dev build by opening the game properties on steam, going to "betas" and changing it to the dev build, then change it back to the normal build, it should work.

Having the same issue. Can't start it. Just hangs afer the first logo. Have to close it in task manager.

I dont know if it works or not, im trying it right now. But i think a solution is putting the CPU number in the launcher to the same one you have on your pc, in my case is 2.

I was able to fix mine by opting into the dev build, letting it download the 7 gigs of stuff, then switching back, and again letting it download. After that, it has worked flawlessly.

Thank you very much. The CPU option really fixed this. It was set to use 1 core as default. Really strange for default option...

wow thanks this was useful
So far so good. All of a sudden arma was crashing within 2 to 5 minutes (same with Rainbow Six Siege, COH2 I was able to play). I changed my cpu core count to 4 (it was set to 1) and crashing is gone now going on an hour. I haven't tested Siege yet, I may not even (I'm just happy to have arma working!)

Man you are the real MVP for the core count thing

Solution 1 worked for me. Thank you.
