helicopter sound bug
Hello I am writing to say my helicopters have a sound bug where when I fly or am in one my sound gets distorted. So far I think I am the only one with this issue. What can I do to fix this issue?

-So far I have tried to verify the game files and it did nothing

I dont believe its a problem with your game files.
Try altering the sound of effects in the audio menu maybe that will help.
And i am pretty sure the game gets a bit distoted in helicopters maybe its not an issue at all

My headset is a SCROLLH5GX but it does not matter because it was fine before the newest update. Yes, AMD cpu.

Could you try using the JEMalloc Allocator - 64-bit and see if it still happens?

You have to have a Realtek audio driver already installed. My PC said that I had an option to set Realtek Audio HD for a default sound device, but i still had to download another one.

I have had this issue for a long time with a Corsair VOID USB headset on Windows 10. It looks like I figured out the issue and found the solution.

The problem is actually with the Corsair driver and how it handles the windows 7.1 environment.
I don't know if the issue is the same with other headsets, but this was my solution:

1. Enter Device Manager in search bar >Open Device Manager> Sound, video, game controllers>Corsair VOID Headset> Right-click and select "Update Driver"

2. Choose "Browse my computer" > "Let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer"

3. You will see the Corsair official driver in the list, also the Windows generic driver.
Choose the windows driver and it will be installed.

4. You will need to restart your computer, and then watch for a pop up prompt
saying "Windows detected that audio enhancements for Corsair VOID Headset were causing problems and were disabled. Do you want to re-enable?"

Select NO.

5. Now open the Sounds app by right clicking the speaker icon in the task bar and selecting "Sounds" > Playback tab

6. Right click "Corsair Headset" > Properties > Spatial Sound

7. Select from drop-down list "Windows Sonic for Headphones"
Ensure that "turn on 7.1 virtual surround" box is checked off (should be automatically)

CONGRATS, now you can experience Arma 3 (and many other games) in working 7.1 surround sound, without any of these problems that the official driver seems to create.

I don't know, but I think this same method will work for other USB headsets as it seems to be a driver compatibility issue
