Trying to bind number keys
As in the title, trying to bind the number/character keys (not the num pad)

I tried to bind 1 to switch rifle/hand gun and 2 to switch rifle/launcher but it doesn't seem to work. It'll accept shift+1 or ctrl+1 but not just the number.

Anyone know anything about that?

I understand that there's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ton of different commands in this game, but it seems like they could have made the entire commands binding menu a little clearer.

Some of the commands are just incorrect, for instance "next weapon" doesn't cycle through your weapons at all, it changes rate of fire?!

for some reason arma never let you bind just numbers

The numbers are apparently hardcoded/bound to the group command system... too bad that's a whole row of keys inaccessible for anyone who ISN'T a group leader. DayZ standalone allows "number row for weapon select", but that's because those devs just aren't using the group command system at all.

If you need extra keys, I suggest using the number pad. Unbind them to the directional look they are now since its rarely used and rebind it to what you want. Doing this will give you 9 extra keys.

Yea but that's on the other side of the keyboard :/

I do have a logitech g105 keyboard so I have 6 "G buttons" to the left of the standard keyboard. I can bind macros to those but it's so inconvenient and weird to use the number keys for anything other than weapon switching IMO.

Go to the controls section, and look at the bottom. You will see where it explicitly states F1-F12 , as well as 1-0 and ` are off limits.

Oh man, what a truly hideous mouse. Anyway, I've got a steelseries sensei, and I'm perfectly happy with it.

i am also really annoyed about it. i dont now how open the code for the game is but could not somebody write a mod so u can use the 1-0 keys ??
fight9 Oct 29, 2013 @ 1:21pm
The 1-0 keys are required for AI commanding and other game functions. Remapping them would cause you to lose more functions than you gain. There are scripts that let you use Shift + 1-0 to do certain actions.

i know but i ask if it would be possible?
