Do you know anyone on steam who has it?

If so steam is starting or already has started a game share program, where you can lend friends your steam games.

I am not sure on the details but I believe it works something liek this
1. I loan you a game
2. As long as i do not play it you can play it
3. Once I get on you are given a warning "Buy game now or stop playing"

I am not sure if this means you can borrow it as long as you like and play only when I am not or if it means once I log into the game you can no longer play it

Also keep in mind some mp games may have issues, where your account is tied into the mp server account. I don't believe arma does this tho

You can get more info here

Do some research, as u can prob see on forums some people did not get what they where expecting. There is no campaign yet, so unless you have a real itch maby you should wait for that too release and see how it turns out, maby the price dropped abit by then. I really enjoy the game, i got it in alpha so it was a bit cheaper then tho. But as i said its not like any other shooter on the market really so try too get a picture of what the core features are before you buy it.

And if you do, hope you enjoy it C: i do.

There will most likely be a free demo-version available at some point. (no guarantees, though) And if you don't know what you'll be getting yourself into with Arma, don't buy it. There's enough ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and moaning on the forums as it is.

For the time being, you can download "ArmA II Free" here : http://www.arma2.com/. That is a version of the previous game in the series with almost all features in place for free! Be aware that ArmA III has benefitted from 4 years of evolution since ArmA II was released and is a much better playing and looking experience than its predecessor. That said, if you find ArmA II to be too slow/boring then this kind of game probably isn't for you.

We're still playing the demo, it only cost us £40. ;)

One thing to add to that, Arma free does not have high res tectures either. Its still a good place to start, and if you are like me and to cheap to buy Arma 2 you can still port the items from free into Arma 3
