Drawing borders and lines on the map?

I'm wondering how you do those coloured checkered looking grid-thingys you see in the campaigns and scenarios?

in the top right you can change the color- CTRL+LM will make you draw a line- double click LM will bring up a marker menu

I'm getting a rectangle when I try to draw a line. Under markers, there's areas and Icons. I don't see lines anywhere.

ctrgl + left mouse btn = line, ctrgl + shift + left mouse btn = straight line

another revive, for real? You open the editor and there you can place eclipse or square shaped markers. Open their properties and make the filling to be "checkerd" or whatever you need
