Arma 3

You want 60+ FPS?
Well that's not the case here, this isn't your ordinary daily shooter. Arma 3 requires some of the best hardware inorder to run it smoothly, 30+ fps is considered an excellent performence. If you have FPS issues:
- Don't put shadows on LOW, put it on Standard or high. That way you will force the engine to use the GPU instead. If you can't handle the game on Standard or high then it's your fault for buying it without reading spec.
- Turn off AA and Blur
- This one will improve the FPS by atleast 50%+, lower the visibilty and set visibility's shadows to min.
- This will also improve the FPS, lower the visibility's object drawing distance until you get the desired FPS.
- MP has FPS issues because of the poor servers, try to join a good server and stick to it. Poor hosting sucks.
- Disable Vsync
- Update your graphics driver and install Razer game booster (It gave me 10% performence)

Hope this helps..

It just multiplayer where the FPS problem is, but mind you thats what this game is all about. I'm happy with 30fps (only when playin ARMA)

The ideal settings is different for every rig really. I can run ultra as long as AA is disabled. For others it is PP effects that reduces fps or object detail and so on.

being happy with 30fps
are you kidding me? do you live under a rock or something?
ARCTiC Sep 12, 2013 @ 5:24am
It's not hardware problem.. should we have to repeat this for how long? 10 years?
No matter what's your hardware, you CANNOT HAVE 60+ fps in multiplayer, because the game engine is old and doesn't take advantage of the new hardware.
Even if you lower all your settings, and try to play the game at 800x600, with 4.5ghz cpu and three Titans, you won't have 60+ fps in multiplayer. Do you understand now?

ARMA servers have always been poor, your lucky to get a consistent 40+fps. I just come to the conclusion that it will never improve. sad really.

arctic is right.

low FPS caused by bad server hardware

Since the release, I'm experimenting huge fps drop even in single players mission, anyone else have this problem ?
ARCTiC Sep 12, 2013 @ 5:29am
Nope, you can't have 60+ fps on *any* server.. you can even setup your own "powerful" server and check yourself.

In SP I can play on 50-60 FPS maxed out, in MP 10-30 (rarely). It's caused by:

1. bad Engine
2. bad Netcode
3. bad Host hardware

Your will never run the game smoothly, especially not on Altis.

idd. it doesnt matter if i turn AA OFF OF EVEN ssoa... my SLI setup can handle that. if i disable it i dont see a fps increase. in fact i see an fps increase when i turn it to the maximum... because this game does only use 30% gpu usage's on my 680's. sad.

You would think that they would of learnt from ARAM II. Fixed this FPS issue on Multiplayer, just damn right lazy or there just poor. One question tho, does it matter what internet speed you have? if you have Fibre broadband will you see better performance?.

Minumum doesn't gurantess that you can run the game. Hell, if the game even launches with such specs then it's a lucky shot.
