Arma 3
Need some ideas for missions/scenarios.
I've been dipping in to the editor tools, and have learned how to do some stuff. What kind of thing would you like to see?

I can do tasks and whatnot, supports, IED's and ambushes, and a few other things. If there is something that I don't know how to do, I will learn it.

One of my personal favorite ways to set up a mission is to watch the news and see what happens around the world. You'll get more ideas than you can ever dream of.
That's actually a pretty cool idea. I might set something up for that, based on military action on Syria.
play as opfor or aaf
Here is a campaign idea.
1) US chopper goes to rescue stalled boat and while they are trying to help they are shot down and captured.
2) Soldiers are sent to rescue them and in the process stumble upon wmd in opfor's possession. They barely escape and have to leave wmd behind.
3) Same soldiers return to capture or destroy wmd and have amazing battle with opfor and save the day.
The sky is the limit....open a miltary history book.
Right now I am working on a hostage rescue mission. Just need to work on some placement and timing, but I think it should work fine. Just need to implement a couple of endings for it.
Ever hear of "Desert One". Google it.
The harder to make ones include a couple things and lots of room for learning.

1.Helo Infil/Exfil

2.Respawn/Revive

3.Into/Outro Music

4.Cutscenes

5.Full Briefings with pictures and target markers you can click and your map will move on its own to target/waypoints on the map.

Missions I've made in the past normaly reflect a real life encounter. Since the Afgan war started we finaly have the closest true to life encouter stories. Most are on video of some sort also.

Ive done a Roberts Ridge. Wanat FOB attack. Restrepo OP attack. Even made my own Osama Bin Laden Opertaion Neptune in which I made his compound by scratch using editor buildings and walls.

All of the sceniro's I done can be reverted to Arma 3. Slight story change and your good to go.

I can do the Helo and respawn, as well as Intro, but I have no idea how to do cutscenes. Also, I have a full briefing (without pictures) and am working on tasks currently. Seems the CAS jet is being a little weird on the runway though, so I need to work on making it stay still until needed.

Try looking into Triggers. Its F3 on your keyboard. Thats how you make AI wait for a staged event. Like having the CAS take off when the AI get within a certain radius or when something dies etc.

That would make sense.

I've been using triggers for everything, lol, never looked in to them enough to realize you can do that with them.

I'll work on it some tonight, and try to finish up tomorrow. It isn't great, I don't like it, but it's simple and fun
Okay, going to try something else, a little bit less Squad VS world. Probably just a stealthy sweep or something. Going to try and make good use of fog
I always like to create insuregency style missions where US forces are in Afghanistan/Iraq/Iran, and the enemies are the Taliban or just some terrorist group, and the task of the US forces is to search and destroy opfor weapons caches. IED's can be used as for urban areas will be the best places for this style of mission. A civilian population can be put into place to serve as another factor in engagements. Also, side tasks can be a thing. For example, search for intel, kill or capture HVT, etc. I hope this helps with your mission making! Good luck, and have fun.
