.408 with satchel charges in my pack. Took an AI guy out at 1500 meters. 12.7 drops short, but 12.7 is used for other purposes than sniping.

i like .408 as well. if this game really has true balistics then the .408 will have more energy at a greater distance. mind you this distance is huge but after a certain point the weight of the .50 round will slow it down before the .408

Mind you, it's 12.7 mm Russian, not .50 BMG...

The 12.7 should be hitting harder out of the muzzle but out at a good sniping distance the .408 is the way to go

Old thread I came across...The misinformation here is pretty profound. The .50 BMG ( I know in ARMA its the soviet x 108) is still supersonic at 2300 meters with a 375 gr. projectile. The energy it has is greater than the .408 at that range, albeit the .408 drops less.

I'm quite curious as to the circumstences a 375gr projectile would be used in a .50BMG load, M33 ball and mk211 are both about double the mass, so what hs been said about 408/50 (albeit it BMG) does hold.

I've never even heard of such a light projectile in .50BMG, I'd like to learn more about it, really curious.
