Hi.
What FPS would be average to good on ARMA 3 so you can have a good game with minimal lag ?

I think you can play with 20 FPS in good conditions. Even with 13-14, but 20 is better.
Have more than 25-30 is useless.

I hope you're joking.

60 FPS -> best experience

No, I'm serious. A movie is fluid, and movies are in 24 FPS (23,976).
Your eye can only see 25-28 FPS. A movement is smoother with 40-50 FPS, but the difference is not very important. For people who have not a very very powerful PC, 25 is enough.
Anyone can not pay 1500$ (or more) for a PC :/

Please forgive my poor english :)

PS: 60 FPS: the maximum the majority of screens can display.
More than 60 FPS: entirely useless

You need 400 fps for on line game and 3500 fps for campaign mode....:)

Hi Guy's
I currently have average of 30 FPS on single player when using the FRAPS application which is a good bench marking tool, i am running a GTX 660 with i7 Intel and 8 Gig of RAM, game runs nice and smooth only get a blur sometimes when quickly changing direction with character , i run most settings on VERY HIGH, but could tone down some settings to get more FPS.

I think a high draw distance setting may really impact on FPS in Arma 3
Turambar Jul 6, 2013 @ 8:20am
There's a mod which disable the blur: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=19006
It's done for Alpha, but I think it should work with Beta.

Another way: set Post-process to Normal, or disable it.

Draw distance has an huge impact on perfs, but it is quite a very important and useful option.

Some people (me, for example) prefer disable Post-process, because it doesn't please to everybody, and it causes a quite great FPS's drop.

Movies appear smooth because of motion blur, to do that on a PC takes more processing power than just running it at 60fps.

Any less than 60fps and your in jerksville.

I play none recent game with 60+ FPS, but I am not in "jerksville" (does this word exist?).
You have jerks if you are below 10 FPS, and the game is not fluide between 10 and 20-25 FPS.
Dj Otacon Jul 6, 2013 @ 9:02am
You can play perfect with 30 fps even 20-25 fps.

You should be getting 70-100 FPS with that hardware

Disable V-Sync and go through settings and dissable all motion blur effects.

Hi Kanzer.
Yes i have just disabled V-SYNC and this has gained me 15 FPS alone.
Good one, now up to 45-50 FPS with most things on very high and 4 x AA
