this is alpha stick to arma2.
So far the bushes are just great it truely allows you to utilize them to great effect in arma 3 by allowing you to really get under those leaves and such. On thing is I play with low terrain simply because its a huge drain on performance, the grass is a big hit. Putting it on low brings between a 15%-25% fps increase.
As for the AI you are doing it wrong, firts the AI cant see thru walls, rocks bushes or trees and if you are using a silenced weapon they won't know what is hitting them, even shooting at ranges of 800m or more with unsilenced wepons also helps to conceal your position, at least the first shoot, but dont stay in the same spot for long cause after the first shot hits the AI will start looking for you and as soon as one of the AI finds you he instantly comunicates your position to all nearby AI soldiers
This is not a bug but a blatent feature of realism which quiet frankly is above your understanding and skill if you can not comprehend this, as you have clearly stated again if it has been fixed, (what a joke).
Also i agree with the first point to a certain extent !. On multiplayer draw distance can be set for every player and every ai unit so thats entirely the mission developers fault or if official missions Bohemias fault. Also players canot possiblly alter the draw distance any higher than the mission editor / server allows if implemented which should (MISSION DEVELOPERS TAKE NOTE). I for one implement every possible feature to make it as fair as possible and even test every single scenario to stop people from moaning and not appreciating the time and effort gone into such mission / servers.
The only problem is the highest settings are to much for most computers to handle and may give some players an advantage only solution turn the draw distance for everyone on the server down to optimal performance. IF your computer cant handle it at optimal performance then leave the server problem solves this is the only viable solution of fairness on multiplayer. We will not drop the performance to medium / low settings just so some players can play on our multiplayer servers that is the users fault for not improving their system.
Do you think its our job to make sure players get the best experience no its not but good mission editors / servers will utlise the best possible features and contingency plans if all fails and do i see one bit of gratatude no i dont. We are gamers like yourself we dont NEED to do anything. you play on our servers which we either rent or or pay, build and mantain so other players can benefit (most likely a better computer than most just to host matches, i for one use a i7 3770K 8GB ram for my own server! with 100MB connection).
Secondly communication and tactical gameplay is the priority in this game and the AI utlisies this no differently than any human player. The fact is you must adapt your gameplays style to accomodate these threats just like in real life. Of course the mission editor can alter the ai difficulty specificly such as alter can they communicate with one another, distance detection, shooting and accuracy abiity etc etc.
For the vegetation, yeah I was afraid it would not be fixed. Well that's one thing we'll have to check on videos to see if it's as bad as in Arma II before buying the game.
Rendering grass is an issue at every game - unless it is a shoebox like CoD, BF, etc.
In ARMA you have to learn the difference between cover and concealment. Adapt and survive.
