Arma 3
White dots, no textures in some places
So I downloaded Arma 3 and went in to play. the first thing I noticed was that in first person mode, my character would be missing textures at random points with the gun and all the triangles would show up. The same goes for buildings there are random holes where textures should be (like a third of a wall is missing in uneven patches). When I go from first to third, then my character is fine, just not when I ADS, but the environment is still having a void. I can tell that there are supposed to be things there but i only see white coverups (like static on a TV except all white).

I validated Steam files and they checked out fine several times. This is not a graphics issue as I have CF 6950s. This is not a CPU problem as I'm pretty sure my i7 2600k OC'd can handle it. This has to be a driver issue. I looked on AMDs page and found that they only have the drivers from 13.2 from back in February, which is what I'm currently using.

Is there any solution for those who have had this sort of problem?

is your graphics card overclocked?

yeah, i had this problem from overclocking my ati 4850 for arma 2. it eventually killed it...since you're not OCing you shhould be fine as far as anything in your control goes, but it's a bit scary. check the temps of your card, etc, make sure everything is alright there.

Never has happended to me its probaly from your card getting TOO hot.

It's not the picture of actual large flickering squares. This is something specific to Arma 3. I'll fiddle with the graphics a bit to see if that improves it. But my cards are for sure not overheating. The white dots being produced are too small for this.

I am actually having the exact same problem. Using a XFX Radeon 5850 1gb. Did you happen to find any solution?

Hello, not sure if this will help but who knows :

In the Catalyst Control Center go to "Games > 3D Parameters > and set "Texture Quality " to High if it's in normal.

Note that they are probably named a bit different for you guys, i translated from what i have in my native language.

Like i said, really not sure if it will help but this setting set to normal or lower sometimes can bring some funky textures in some games ( 13.2 Beta drivers with Arma 2 do little white dots on trees textures like we see here : http://img4.hostingpics.net/pics/373651arma2oa2013021516592035avisnapshot000720130219191700.jpg )

Well hope you get your problem fixed soon to enjoy the game.

Edit : maybe also try the " Surface Optimisation" setting ...

I did fix it a few days ago. Turning off anti aliasing but leaving the smaa and fxaa to it's value is fine. It must be a confusion with the values in the code.

Turning off anti aliasing isn't really a fix, it's just avoiding the problem. I'd like to be able to use AA but I can't due to this exact problem. Is there no real solution yet?
