Arma 3
Customize loadout?
Is there a way to choose which gun/equipment you have before starting a single player mission? I've been stuck with the same gun for awhile now and I would like to experience the other firearms this game has to offer.

You can config your loadout it via your Editor. For more, please consult those bazillion websites for editing SP and MP missions.

Yup its was too much effort for BI to make one.

Weapons are determined by those who make the mission. Some have a box at the beginning you can swap out at, others want you to use predetermined rifles. It's entirely up to the mission creator.

oftentimes (though less & less so) workshop devs will mention something 'virtual ammo box' or VAS included in the notes. if not, its the game makers design choice what gun you start out. tr finding missions for different factions, different roles, or that allow team-switch.

and very much agree w/ relian to experiement with the editor, which will give you access to every asset available thus far in arma 3.

(This is a campaign like series i'm still creating...episode 3 coming soon..like in a few hours soon)

All of the Single Player missions in the above collection use Virtual Ammobox System.- THis VAS system will allow you to sleec tyour weaponry from a robust graphical interface. You've prbably seen this same interface in multiplayer missions.

Hope you enjoy, and happy shooting!! (P.S. there is a little firing range on base, if you want to test the weapons before taking them into the field)

Download the MCC Sandbox mod. You can use it to spawn vehicles, units, crates, VAS, set waypoints for AI, and a whole bunch of other good stuff. Without ever leaving the mission. This is what I use to spawn ammo crates with the weapons I want to use. My favorite thing, is to spawn a vehicle with a VAS crate in it! Its a traveling armory! When using MCC for the first time, make sure you read the included documentation and maybe watch some videos of people using it. It can be a little complicated at first. When you get the hang of it, you will be creating custom dynamic missions of the fly! Its an amazing mod.

ill have to give that another shot. not typically being one for 'documentation' (& the game, & probably mod) were in much earlier stages then) i found it game breaking in some regard. sounds amazing though...cheater.

Yes, you can use MCC to cheat. It will tell you the position of every enemy unit on the map (all units - BLUFOR, OPFOR, IND). It's particularly useful when looking for that last enemy that's prone in a building so you can end the mission. Personally, I just use it to tailor missions more to my liking. I have a lot of mod packs and I like to be able to use them in missions designed for the vanilla game. Sometimes, a missions will make you walk long distances and I don't want to do that, so I spawn a hunter for myself and my team. Trust me, once you open MCC up, you'll wish you read the documentation. I didn't and it took me forever to do anything. I eventually read the docs and watched some videos of people using it in actual missions. It helped a lot. Now I can create whole dynamic missions in 20 minutes without ever opening the editor.
