Arma 3
Dead Nation Mod is DayZ port
It is actually really fun. Not many people playing it at the moment, but I'm sure that will change when people realize how much fun it is. I get the feeling the creator (lol please, he ported it) might be in a little trouble. Awesome mod though. better than DayZ on Arma 2 people are claiming.

Despite lots of bugs Dead Nation is turning out to a be a great mod. You can enter nearly every building so escaping zombies is eay. There are lots of zombies though and some of them are marathon runners. The loot is plenty, except for bandages. Come on peeps if you like DayZ you will love Dead Nation.

Dude please..... no more DayZ. It ruined vanilla ARMA 2 and OA terribly. We dont need DayZ in ARMA 3, let it die and become a standalone already.
The Dead Nation mod is not DayZ (it's a port) and is becoming very popular. Arma is all about freedom to make whatever missions the creator wishes. I play alot of ACE on Arma 2 and play in very organised teams. I do like playing DayZ and Wasteland too. Yes the players are not the same quality but the game is fun in its many forms.

Well, the DayZ gameplay then. Vanilla ARMA 2, and OA were ruined by it and ARMA 3 will be as well. The standalone is where it should stay. I havent played multiplayer of ARMA OA for a while now (As my mercenary tank crew and i dont normally follow a Chain o command, if something is firing at my tank my crew and i remove the threat from existance. Or if i see a position full of enemies i wont hestitate to start raining hell upon them even though the Chain o command expects me to call it in wait for permission (all the while having RPGs fired at me) to fire my gun.

Western army command structure is the reason i avoid ARMA OA servers as most are American owned (Aside from the russians) and thus impliment a rather unrealistic nature of war. When i say unrealistic in Iraq and of course vietnam it shows that the American "tactics " fall flat on their face when thinking fighters attack em.
My foremost objection about more zombie/survival mods is that it adds nothing to ArmA that has not been done already. People are now creating survial/zombie/apocalypse mods just to ride along with the dayz hype and hoping for 2 minutes of fame and a piece of the money-pie too. No doubt there are few fellas right now dreaming about their mod becoming popular and a stand alone game too, they too wish to swim in money :)

Other people object to zombie mods, because it brings in the young teenagers that have a lets say a different playstyle then the old arma gamers. Well, that has already happend because of dayz and they are now a part of the arma community. Even if you don't like it, they are here to stay, so just accept it.

I personally would like to see a good Altislife mod, because the idea behind it is nice.... but it is really lacking at a lot of aspects... up to the point that is not worth it to keep playing it. It needs a persistent database that is able to safe everything and a lot of the gameplay mechanics needs to be brushed up and become more solid and bug free.

This is better. All though atislife (online anyway) sometimes has the worst admin abuse ever.

To those who said DayZ was never coming to Arma 3, well it has and it's better than Arma 2. There are some issues with it like the range of attack from zombies is stupidly far. Minor crashing has been observed, not unlike Arma 2. The general fluidity of Arma 3 makes popping zombies a joy instead of a chore. I think the CoD kiddie DayZ fans are going to love this.

For some reason, reading this was like hearing someone read aloud my sentence when I stand before the judge in a court room. Every word of it invoked an angry, spitting "f*ck you" from my inner conscious. Not at the poster, but at the bitter truth that I dont want to hear or accept. The DAYZ f*ggots are coming. Prepare to retreat.

Why always so Anti-American, bro? Its a bad representation of Canada, as every time I visit, Canadians love Americans. To my face, anyway.

Try and be a bit more open minded. I don't see the Canadian Army as a world superpower :-) and nobody on ARMA that expects you to call in and wait for permission to fire has any sense at all of military tactics. We Americans have something call "rules of engagement" and they clearly state that if you are being shot at, return fire. No call in to command needed.

"rules of engagement" actually matter not if the highest up says for political reasons not to fire, i am not to fire. Some servers i have dealt with such nonsense. The Russian servers are the best, with two American owned "Normal" servers i play.

I dont hate Americans, but in general they paint the image of themselves quite badly. I dont mind Americans as far as people, but their miltary/patroitism/bravado is actually found in their servers.

Lots of people are annoying with their servers. As for our military our Tanks drawf yours (the lepoard 2 in all ways is a better tank). For army size we are smaller but our geography even your army admits would be hell to take.
