lots of people usually play modded/tactical/milsim servers, Vanilla can sometimes be dead if you don't want to play King of the Hill, and maybe Zeus.

most of those modded servers you can find in Looking for Group or Clans/Groups discussion tabs

The game got you covered. THere is a tutorial menu, with tutorial content. (not just the bootcamp/prologue to the Eastwind campaign. The VR-Training goes way beyond that.)

Well if investing an hour of time into this game is an issue, just quit right now. Took 1-2 months of me playing daily to finally learn all the features/controls/etc. but it was worth it. Very fun game.

Play the single player campaign. It's the tutorial.
