Reloading HMG GMG on Vehicles...

Am I missing something or is there no possible way to reload Heavy Weapons mounted on vehicles?

No since OPF to Arma 3 you can not reload the Heavy MGs.

empty the magazine and then it will auto-reload (if you have another one handy). Usually if there's less than 20 or so rounds left I'll just empty them out to get a fresh box

How do you Auto Reload vehicle mounted weapons?

Never had any vehicle "Auto" reload it's main mounted weapon!

lol You guys are talking about different scenarios. Kilo is talking about a completely empty HMG and Mutual is talking about reloading the second box. Yes, the HMG will automatically reload the second box after the first is out.

Either way, you can rearm with one of the support ammo vehicles (IE HEMTT ammo) or using one of the Vehicle Ammoboxes. Just pull the vehicle up along side the HMG (or the HMG up along side the ammo box) and it will rearm automattically. I am not sure how many rearms the HEMTT ammo or vehicle ammobox have. Also, I don't know if the support vehicles are side specific. Probably not since the HMGs are the same for all main factions.

You need to place one down in the mission editor:

BLUFOR -> NATO -> Supports -> HEMETT Ammo

Empty > Ammo > Vehicle Ammo (NATO/CSAT/FIA)

Hey, I havw a question regarding the HMG ammo on varios tanks and the guns emptying themselves of ammo and aMagasines on restart in wasteland, , it is really dissapointing when you capture a tank, it has ammo, you then logoff . When you log back on the ammo is gone. the main guns are all good but no commander ammo, is ther a fix , do we know if anyone has a solution other than living with it??
