Personally when I'm playing alone or in private group games i go expert mode but in public i go with whatever the server is running. Without crosshairs and such this game would die.
Sad but unavoidably true.
But well I don't know, never shot a real weapon : )
Edit: I still have exagons on teammates, maybe I should remove them too ? uhm.. what's the exagon name in options ?
Crosshair = COD ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ feature ?
DAMN.. glad we already playing with crosshair turned off then : P lol
Head tracking doesn't directly improve aiming, you still do all of it with your mouse. Headtracking only affects in-game head movement, nothing else.
What's actually improved, is the "feel" of the game, the famous immersion, and the fact that you no longer need to hold ALT button and move mouse to look around, meaning you can both aim and look around at the same time - and this, indeed, can be some kind of an advantage. Especilly that in normal game you can't use the ALT freelook when aiming down the sights, while with head tracking it's doable.
You can make your own head tracking with a really low budget - just a fast framerate webcam and free software.
what about Oculus Rift ? will that be better than head-tracking or just usless head ace like actual 3D googles ?
Unless the facebook buyout SEVERELY ♥♥♥♥♥ it up, then no, it wont be ♥♥♥♥, it will be awesome and I will buy one as soon as the first public release happens.
It's going to combine best aspects of both of them. 3D stereoscopic vision (not just cheap movie "throw something big at the audience" style) and built-in head tracking. Meaning you would really feel like you're in the game world. Right now they're working on getting best possible resolution and refresh rate.
Head ache really depends on person. I know people getting dizzy after couple minutes of basic head tracking, while I and my squad-mates can spend 2 hours in combat flight sim with that tracking on without major problems. Of course, having full 3D, no view of your own body and display right next to your eyes might strenghten that effect, but again it depends on person.
