um do we brain?... im just giving you a link to download the ctf maps ive got nothing to do with them at all.
For one, Arma is an engine designed for military simulation. The game creates scenarios in which realistic military situations can be achieved.
Throw out Dayz, Epoch, Arma Life and all those other mod/standalone types. Those mods deserve their own forum, because they are not Arma.
In Arma you can create scenarios in which one team, or force, is tasked with retrieving intelligence (in the shape of a laptop, vehicle, etc.), which is followed up with a return to base. Opfor, opposing force, will be tasked with guarding said objective, thus creating a CTF play.
Arma does not do well making "black and white" gamemodes, such as TDM or CTF. Arma just isn't Call of Duty. It requires much more depth and insight. Take a look at the editor and a few videos, if you play around with the modules you should be able to make something neat.
The problem is, unless you're in a dedicated milsim group, it's hard to actually be able to play these sorts of scenarios online with a group of randoms. Even KOTH (which I might add is the only half-decent gamemode that's being played at all) is nothing but YOLO para-dropping and camping.
It would be nice if someone could make some easy back-and-forth scenarios that let the players play them out with ArmA mechanics without too much effort in the brains department, because that's what we need, and that's what I think could be popular.
this pretty much sums it and answers the topic.
classic arma multiplayer is barely present. mp has huge majority in those (almost) total conversion mods. the best thing to really feel original arma is to be in some sort of group, and to play created scenarios.
i myself play everything exept those life mods and breaking point. they make no sense to me. i play all classic arma mp forms like coop modes, koth, cti. and also epoch/overpoch (not to be confused with dayz epoch/overpoch, because in arma 3 there are no zombies, it's just pvp like wasteland) and wasteland can be fun for pvp, since all good old original pvp modes of arma are barely present in arma3.
