Arma 3
How to get VBS 3
I'm a big fan of Arma and I have play thousands of hours on ArmA I & II, I recently purchase Arma III and it's a good game, but since a long time I think to get VBS 2, and recently I've discover that VBS 3 is on the market.

I know that it was possible to get VBS2 for civilian and I want to know :
  1. if VBS 3 is still available for civilian
  2. how much cost VBS 3
  3. what I need to get the 3D editor for scenarios (what I want the most ^^)
  4. what I need to get the after action viewer
  5. what I need to do for buy the simulation
  6. what functionnality I can't have by the fact that I'm a civilian

And finaly I know that VBS 3 is a military oriented simulation and it's because of that that I want get it, I'm aware that this game is not call of duty, sorry but I've already got this type of comments.

NB: Thanks for the replies and forgive me for my bad english I'm a non english speaker person.

A few thousand just the core game. The modules costs also a few thousand each.

And FYI: You can't get VBS as a consumer. Only commercial customers, goverments and other organziations can get the simulator.

I know this site but they didn't show price of products and they have other professional application like 3D modeling tool and terrain editing toolkit, I think the £3000 is for that because I've eard it's around 500$ and I would like to know the exact price for the simulation, to know if I can get it this winter or the next summer.

And for the n°3 and 4 I got my answer.

The two modules VBS 2 Fire and VBS 2 Strike don't interest me, I'm more interested by ground combat and scenario editing so VBS 3 is enough for me.

If you dont know what VBS3 is then chances are you wont enjoy it. VBS3 is more a training tool than a game, Its doesnt have a campaign or the same bells and whistles as arma 3 so unless you have a group of people interested in buying and playing with you then it probably wont be worth it. and also just emailing them wont hurt theyll gladly be able to answer your questions better than we can.

dont know if this is any help:
you can get JCOVE lite free, (based on VBS2) it was developed for the UK Ministry of Defence who released it as freeware/recruiting tool

just search JCOVE lite and choose a reputable download site.

I already have JCOVE and US army pack ^^ so I know what is VBS but they are extremely limited if you compare to VBS 2 so it's why I'm interested by VBS 3

Yes but these two demo are at maximum 1% of the real content of VBS so it not enough for stay on and be happy but enough to motivate to buy the real simulator

https://store.bisimulations.com/software?lic_type=All&tag=&items_per_page=All

I found the answer, vbs2 is 500$ vbs3 3000$ Crowd 870$ and their is a lot of additional content (but specialized and don't have a big interest, I don't know if I way a VBS 4 for buy VBS 3 or if I buy only VBS 2 and wait for a drop of VBS 3 price

It DOES NOT matter if you have all the money to cover the cost, individual licenses of VBS3 are not sold. VBS2 can be purchased by an individual for commercial or academic reasons. Once you are a holder of the VBS2 license only then can you obtain a license for VBS3 as an individual. In short, you can't get VBS3 unless you already have VBS2. I've contacted BISim directly about this and that is their answer.

So thanks for your answer, but i don't think i'll buy VBS3, 500$ is still a big amount of money but it worth it and it's affordable, 3500$ is the price of my workstation so I prefere buy a workstation than a simulator it's more useful for me ^^.
