Arma 3
Worth getting just for Singleplayer?
I most likely wont have any friends to play with, so my question is, would this game be worth it if all I play is singleplayer?

Sure. There also tons and tons of user made missions you can enjoy alone :)

I spend my first 300+ Hours doing the campaign (part 2 is great) or SP workshop missions. I now have 1700 Hours in the game. You can buy the game for SP only, but if you find a good group of people, MP is fantastic.

I'm thinking of picking this game up while its on sale. I'm new to the game and I'd love to join a some other people new to the game who want to do some multiplayer missions and learn the game together :)

From what I've played the SP campaign is pretty buggy... I think you should try the free weekend first before you spend $30 on it.

Campaign is 5 per cent of SP, Ive played arma SP for 13 years odd, if you have intrest in modern conflicts you can pretty much recreate any scenario with mods from WW2 to vietnam to cold war, somalia, african independence wars, cypriot wars, balklans, chechan wars, hell im sure theres a napoleon mod somewhere even a bloody roman mod on arma 2.

It's worth it man. 186 hours and I haven't played a cent of multiplayer. There are a ton of dynamic sp missions out there, so much that I haven't finished the damn campaign yet.

Here are some dynamic SP missions. Homie, trust me they kick ass! No SP game is ever the same!:
1. Whole Lotta Altis aka WLA
2. Mission Control Center 4 aka MCC Sandbox
3. Antistasi
4. HETMAN War Stories
5. Advanced Fierce Combat Simulator

All of this is on the steam workshop and as ファントム精鋭 said, you can manually download them at http://www.armaholic.com/
Thanks for the suggestion guys! I'm definetly gunna download the game and give it a go before buying it. If anyone wants to help me out, feel free to add me and I'll be down to play once I have the basics of the game down.

Parts of the Campaign are great, other parts are very gamey, where you struggle to find the right event trigger. But the Campaign is only part of SP, and it's not the best place for new players to start. Play the Showcases, or do training runs in VR or the firing ranges. And there's a ton of content in the Workshop.

What are the Showcases?

Showcases are basically a single mission built around a certain idea- for example, one is about driving and gunning on a tank, some are about infantry firefights, recon and stealth missions, to try and show you the kind of mission diversity you can have.

So you recommend a mod to a first time player? In other words the game itself alone isn't up to par.

I never explored single-player. Awesome!

Where did you dig out this one?

LOL, I was just wondering about the singleplayer and found some good info and wanted to be able to find this again. I wish steam had like a bookmarks but they don't.
