Do you have error code 81 problem -steam error popup, game doesn't open at all, or something else, like crashing at loading screen, arma 3 stopped working or black screen?
(not idea which if Antivirus, Firewall or Internet Security or else)
then uninstall + OS restart solved the problem
Well that means error code 81 is a general term and therefore you get it with many different problems, and that means, nooone can really help eich other because many people with many problems get the same error code, thanks BI.
UPDATE ON ERROR 81:
---
What "FIXED" this for me was:
---
Additional info for Devs:
That night that Arma had an update the steam froze and required restart, I didn't knew what th f'ck it was, but now I know it was comodo conflict with steam update.
To the point that steam required restart because all updates (even from other games) were frozen.
After the restart patch was loaded, but there was still conflict with firewall from registry point of view.
Don't blame BI here, because all files from Arma III (1.38 update) were fine.
It was steam screwing up with firewall on this particular update.
---
In Short:
'Even if' you will 'disable' Comodo/Firewall and see that there is no conflicts with it, even if it says that sandbox is clear, and all registry is clear - it means sh't.
You need to uninstall Comodo. 'And' restart your PC.
As soon as I did this, steam loaded update for itself. Arma works for me now.
I f'cking can fly again... I'm going to hug now all my Helicopters.
Ps.
I got rid of Comodo and now I have only Avast (it got a firewall of its own)it does not have any issues with steam or Arma.
I don't know if this will help for others 'this Error 81' but I hope it does.
If you had a situation like me, (when steam got froze on that update time) then check your firewall.
It can be a Comodo or Mcaffee, or anything like that. And 'remove' it totally.
Or uninstall and install it back and check if it will work for you if you 'insist' on using it.
All I know for sure is that Avast is 'clear' on this line.
Thanks to LordChaos for this, you are the man!
Peace out, I'm back to flying... I fricking missed that thing so badly.
Only my Heli understands me.
you do realize we can't fix it ?
... it's issue with STEAM versus some security software and not Arma 3
Well thats weird, because i never had an issue like that, not ever before hmm...
LAST UPDATE?
should be obviously obvious especially with the STEAM's error popup ...
It's not only Arma 3 Dwarden, it's mess up in the steam client for sure, check out this:

It's from Grey Goo and that stuff was just released.
Actually these reports are from many totally random games on the steam.
Point is that not everyone that instant crash get the error pop up, like myself. I and others have given rpt's, has that been any help yet identifying the possible issue?
to be able at least say if it's Norton or something else ...
if you don't have time, mood or it's too much 'work' to configure then I understand your refusal
