Features are free to everyone (within 1.34 patch update) just some of DLC content isn't
(pilot/gunner roles and some scenarios)

about KARTS, that's testing micro DLC, added after being requested by community

ongoing sustained development allows more Arma 3 improvements, features, content etc.
unlike DOA/EOL type of product abandoned shortly after released

Well let’s see you want the game to be almost free, without any any say i think its nice to be free, but you have to remember what happened since alpha... the alpha cost was around 10 dollars or something, sorry if im wrong... since then a lot of things, codes and so on was changed a tone of bug fixed and so on so on… now bohemia are holding contests like make arma not war… and they are even giving money to those people, mods and so on and a chance to become a developer. So they are kind of losing on it since they in my opinion should use the idea and just give credit to the guy who thought of it. Now most people who play arma have arma 3 already bought and not that many people get it… in defense of bohemia this means that they have little money to work with since they have to pay the workers too, then the bills, and then varies development software and hardware all costing millions upon millions. Now you might say why the game isn’t perfect, well let’s see…. Arma 3 is the most advanced combat simulator in terms of infantry, and the technology used to create this simulator is very new and way more advanced than the one in arma 2.. therefore there are bugs and stuff, cuz they are learning the technology and they need money to maintain it… and to educate people at all times… so that’s a good reason that they make the dlc cost money, cuz they need that money to further develop the game… unlike arma 2, this is all new technology, all new people, all new ideas, and it will take a good bit to improve the game, but to do this they need our support on the forums, and financial to pay the bills and to be able to pay the workers.. and yeah the dlc costs money because of that, if you don’t like showing support then you don’t get the bonus points, haha… but hey, at least they let you get on the helicopters as a passage and in marksman dlc, they are so generous that they will let the bullets hit people’s faces that haven’t bought the dlc…

I wish my clients did suits these questions when I sell my products .... you are incredibly generous and understanding, but also very naive....without offense of course!

If true what you are saying they did before to ask for a contribution to support the them/our cause...instead of hiding it behind a DLC.

They would have been more honest, and certainly more appreciated for it, because ask for money for something that is not worth or so cheap.....inevitably lead to this absurd controversy, or they could introduce a DLC much more important and appetizing.

Would have been equally some controverise, but at least the expenditure was justified by the quality of the product,and one could turn a blind eye.

The demand for the purchase of this DLC is very simple:

I like it? Ok...buy it!...That's all.

It does not matter going to understand the motivations that lead a Software House ... etx...etx, it's enough to say yourself yes or no!

well yeah i support you sparviero.... and yeah the thing is already, you get half of the dlc for free... the only thing not for free is the helicopters, but look at it this way, this dlc it’s a way of sponsoring the developers, so if you wish you can donate to them by buying the dlc, with your donation you will receive a small bonus of 2 helicopters, in different variations. If you say it doesn’t cost the price or it’s overpriced, it means that you don’t want it that much and you are satisfied with the free portion of the DLC you get

The only worthwhile thing to complain about Arma 3 is the poor FPS performance, especially on servers with many players. I guess this should be fixed before DLCs are for sale. And the badest thing is when DLC patches drop the FPS once more (often near 20) as it could be read in many threads.

...... but just as many others, you seem to miss the point about the DLC. The DLC is pretty much a "Thank you! Continue your work" type of DLC. Just like the Karts DLC. ........You are receiving major changes to the game for free, like shooting out of vehicles, even after the game has been out for like 2 years. Most of the devs just abandon their games at that time. Be thankful once and for all, there is litteraly no point in steering up ♥♥♥♥ here.

Right ! You should see the whole development of the game and that the devs seem to be interested that this game gets better every year. I like payin for that ! (for example Chrysis shut down all online servers after two years. never buy a game like Chrysis again)

So once again, there is no better game like Arma 3 and I like supporting it with DLCs. If you dont liketo , you do not need to fly those new helis .....

Nobody's forcing you to buy the DLC. They've added all the primary and best features free, the DLC isn't game changing, it's just a kart racing DLC and two helis. Deal with it.

I too think the DLC is rediculous. If they need money to support development, then just ask! But don't waste time developing a DLC to get money to develop a couple of features! The Helicopters DLC wasn't that big of a deal to me, but the GO KARTS!?!?! THIS IS A COMBAT SIM!! NOT A GO KART RACING SIM!! What a waste of time to develop go karts for this game, and they aren't even that good. That time and money should've been spent patching, optimizing, and adding new features to the game. Also, let's not forget that Bohemia Interactive sells VBS liscences to the military for thousands of dollars! And their current VBS3 is far far FAR beyond what Arma3 currently has, in simulation and optimization of graphics! BI is getting rediculous with the product they are giving us. The AI is stupid as hell (I can shoot at them and they don't even take cover!!!), there is no 3D editor for absolutely NO reason, the character control is horrible (which has been a problem with all arma games), the graphics are poorly optimized, they really lack content, the multiplayer experience is still bad, the vehicle damage system is still horrible, the body armour and player damage system is still bad (although much improved), and more that I don't feel like taking the time to mention. Almost all of these problems are non existant in VBS. However, this is still the best combat sim around simply because it is the ONLY combat sim around, but the developers priorities are in the wrong place. This could be a AAA title that everybody would be interested in buying if certain areas were more focused on. The map is HUGE! But, we really don't need such a huge map, and really, we could do without tons of vehicles and weapons, if they would focus on making the engine itself run far better with more features, and work on AI so that it was actually capable of fighting similar to a human.

...But I digress...
