HDRPrecision=16 to 0. Should it work?
Hey there,

I am having performance issues in Arma 3 and I heard than HDR Effects are the responsible for the crappy performance and the huge FPS drops sometimes. So, I decided to look inside arma3.cfg for something to disable it. Then, I found this code line. Should be safe to change it from 16 to 0? Will it really make any result?

Thanks in advance.

I would make a backup of your arma3.cfg
Then, change that setting to 0 and see if it makes a difference.
If it does, great. If not, just replace it with your backup.

Quality difference between standard and low HDR is pretty ridiculous. I've thought about using standard regardless of performance. Low HDR just makes everything so bright and washed out.

SweetFX helps a little bit though.

edit: 16 is standard, 8 is low. So I imagine 0 is disabled. I'll test it.

Then, tell me if it works.

Doesn't do anything. It can't go below 8.

So, if I set to zero, what happens?

accepted values are 8 and 16 in Arma 3 (was 8, 16 and 32 in A2: OA) ...

yet A2: OA uses different HDR calculations so 16 is considered enough for A3

God bless you, Dwarden! Thanks :D:
