Arma 3

How do you correctly install ASDG JR?
I don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about all of the hooplah crap about all of the release changes to this crap or what it does or all of the coding and other hooplah crap.

I just have this mod and the ASDG Attachments mod but everytime I open up the game it says the Attachments mod requires ASDG Jointrails (Which I have, aptly ♥♥♥♥ing called "ASDG_JR". Then when I load the game it says "No Entry: yada yada yada Arma 3.config ASDG joint rails" and it has to error messages for it.

What I have done so far to install it which is the only thing the dumb ♥♥♥ developer of the mod puts on his page aside from all his tech crap I'm sure nobody who just wants to play the military simulator actually wants to read.

-Put it into the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3\@ASDG_JR folder as "@ASDG_JR" (latest version)
-Activated the mod via Arma3 Launcher
-Used the parameter on the A3 Launcher for "-mod=@ASDG_JR;" with a list of other mods
-I have put ASDG_JR first in the load order for both parameter AND boot order in the mods list

What am I missing to make this work? I'm under the honest assumption that I need to manually edit a game file via notepad or maybe even possibly using a hexeditor but I'm not sure. I'd imagine if you had to use a hexeditor or do too much reverse engineering on the base game files that it wouldn't be a mod that EVERY SINGLE PLAYER USES simply because most people probably wouldn't want to learn how to code games to that extend just to use mods which don't even effect the base game campaign.

sounds like your making ti more difficult than it has to be. First off why use parameters??? just extract file to your main arma 3 folder so its says @ASDG_JR than open mods under launcher and press the add mod file at bottom right, choose @ASDG_JR and thats it. dont use parameters at all.

also if your going with ASDG mods id suggest just doing all of them. joint muzzles/joint rails/ joint attachments.

i have
arc patches
ASDG attachments
ASDG Jointmuzzle
ASDG JointRails
Blastcore
CBA
Dragonfyre
Drift no fatigue
GPNVG panoramic
MAS
MGI tact glasses
MK18mod1
RH Acc
RH m4pack
RH pistols
RH PDW
Tactbeards
TFAx Gear
Tryk
VTS
VA
THS
Arma enhanced movt.

i use all at same time no problems except for the enhanced movt. one server in particular i play doesnt allow it unfortunately. hope this helps

Hmmm... I think I found my problem, and don't? Doesn't just selecting "Mods" in the launcher and then using the destination folder your main game folder wouldn't that work instead of having to do parameters? I used parameters because 90% of the mods I got all said to use it, so for any mod I didn't get from Steam Workshop (alcholicarma and their official forums, etc) told me to use parameters.

Well something else I was able to do was go into My Documents/Arma3 and edit the config and it kept saying "Destination Not Found" so then I manually had to copy and paste the destination into it and save the confg file. Still didn't work.

Then I looked around trying to find a different downloadable file of JointRails since it seemed like the original author for the Alcoholics site was a down syndrome pig or something - I was able to get 3 other JR files of varying versions (possibly higher versions?) and I updated the files for @ADSG_JR, but then I skipped the foreplay and copied everything of the folder @ADSG_JR and made a complete duplicate folder and renamed it "@ADSG_JointRails" because I was also under the assumption that no mods on this big planet had any support or compatibility with "ADSG_JR" but that they required REQUIRED the mod/path of "adsg_JOINTRAILS".

That seems to have fixed it. Just as a precaution I now have the JointRails and the JR files intact in the game folder just incase a mod string my link to one or the other. I also mixed the JointRails RHS latest files (as of March 2015), not knowing what it was but it hasn't seemed to done any harm yet and I've encountered zero bugs or pop ups.

I'll take a look at the other mods. But from what I have seen is that as of JR version .07 or something, JointMuzzle has been implemented in JointRails by default.

lol dam dude your folders and files sound all jacked up. personally i never used parameter method. was too much work to get it working. the simple extract to main arma3 folder and making sure the folder had a @ than enabling it in game was all that was needed (old style before launcher). the launcher however seems to have made things easy. simply DL to the folder than choose "opens a dialog where you can add local user mods" and add that mod to the list, check or uncheck box to get it going, quick and easy.

I'm actually betting I don't need any parameters, but I wasn't all that sure lol it was my first time modding an Arma game. At first I absolutely hated Arma and I wanted to throw a brick through their window then throw them and the brick back out the window XD. But that was because I hated the controls... They're still hard to get used to but I was used to a gamepad and gamepad just doesn't work for Arma... But after getting destroyed in BF4 with a gamepad I decided to do the KB/M and I got somewhat used to it, then I tried A3 again and viola, it was playable.

I just needed around 4 months to get used to a keyboard. But that's because before 1 year ago, I've been using Xbox for around 8 years.

yeh its definately got a curve to it since its more of a sim than an action FPS. ARMA3 vanilla id say was rather weak on content so it did get boring fast, thank god for the mod community and saving the exprience for me. arma2 id say is still handsdown the best of the seris so far.

I just wish that the single player missions like the campaign had a weapons loadout. I'd love to be able to use any of my mod weapons in the campaign instead of the boring MX-4 which so far in the campaign hasn't had any attachments other than a grenade launcher I never used once (don't know how to use it yet lol).

That's probably one of the smaller but still annoying problems I've noticed. I have like 30-40 guns added through mods but I can't use a single one of them because they're simply not in the game/missions. And some people advocate that operators don't get to pick or select anything for their loadouts but that's completely untrue. Operators are, as I know, expected to take the equipment that they know would fit the purpose and parameters of the mission - this includes grenade type, weapon attachments, weapon personalizations, and even worn equipment of their choice much like pattern, weave, gloves, and pads.

i dont think ive gotten past the first mission on singleplayer. never was interested in it as this game is all bout te MP!
Fokkas Apr 6, 2015 @ 6:40pm
I've not touched the MP. I'm not too interested in it, I don't do that much MP in games lol. Too many people who are annoying, exploitive, never listen, pissed when you're not as good as them. Communication kinda goes out the window especially if you don't have a headset (which believe it or not headset is easier to do on a console than on the PC lol). And then in MP games, too many people are trolls.

Aside from that, my internet is pretty suck for MP in most games.
