i5 4670k ExThreads?
Simple question: How many exthreads does an i5 4670k have in it? I know it has 4 cores, just how many exthreads?

defualt for quad core is 7.. the game is good at setting the correct ExThreads.

That wasnt my question, my question was how many ExThreads does an i5 4670k have, I finally found it on the intel website. It says it has 4. So never mind...

EXthreads is not you're core count.. extreads is not displayed on the intels website, it strictly has to do with armas thread system. exthread is a setting.. not a processor feature

I know it is not your core count, no its not just Arma, I looked on intels website, there where two seperate lines showing threads, and cores. Look again if you dont believe me

thats called hyperthreading and i5s does not have that.. 4 cores = 4 threads

Then what the ♥♥♥♥ do I put for ExThreads?
Shrek Mar 21, 2015 @ 1:36pm
Also, if you know what malloc is, can you tell me what to put for that? Btw I know i5 doesnt have hyperthreading, but that doesnt mean it doesnt have exthreads, if the number or threads always equals the number of cores, then why even put another different section that says threads.

A quick Google search comes up with what you are asking for with exThreads (it's 7 for a quad core CPU, 3 for a dual core CPU). As for malloc, that depends. For most people it seems that tbb4malloc_bi performs the best, but it's worth testing some of the other ones to see. All of the mallocs are in the arma3/dll directory.

If you want to use one of them and you're using the launcher just put the file in in the Malloc field. You don't need to put anything else, including the file extension. JUST the file name.

put exthreads=5, i have an i7 and use exthreads=7

7 Threads (i7 cores with Hyperthreading or AMD octacores):

Core 1: 0 & 1
Core 2: 2 & 3
Core 3. 4 & 5
Core 4: 6 & 7

Core 1: 0
Core 2: 1
Core 3: 2
Core 4: 3
Core 5: 4
Core 6: 5
Core 7: 6
Core 8: 7

5 Threads (AMD ones with 6 cores, afaik no Intel cpus with 6 cores available (except the extreme editions, but this would be then 11 threads with HT)):

Core 1: 0
Core 2: 1
Core 3: 2
Core 4: 3
Core 5: 4
Core 6: 5

3 Threads (4 core cpus)

Core 1: 0
Core 2: 1
Core 3: 2
Core 4: 3

So for quadcores, use 3 threads. But use either cpu count OR exThreads, not both. If you fill in both then exThreads will override the cpu count.

Small hint: In IT-world, everything begins with 0. Not 1 ;)

Nope, just Steamname. And I played KOTH twice in my life, each for 10 mins ;)

oh, lol
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ guys. dont post in a forum when u have no idea please. everything said above is just WRONG. if u would search the internet for "arma 3 launch options for example" u would know what exthreads means. u can set exthreads to 0, 1, 3, 5, 7. The different numbers are setting the game to use more than one thread to work with. just check out this site:
