The best sniper for soft targets is the M320. There are no tips and tricks - it's all about practice. Something I'd really recommend every "new" sniper is learning what mil dots are - yes, they actually work ingame. There are lot's of sniper missions in the workshop, but u can also set up a scenario in the editor.

hwy quick question. does gullie suits work? in mp that is
Yannick|i7 Mar 20, 2015 @ 4:58am
Sure, why should they not work? In some game modes u have to pick the Sniper or Marksmen slot. BTW: AAF Gillie is the best for bush sniping, CSAT version for dry grass and the NATO one is an allrounder

Remember that you not always have to see your target. The bigger the gun the more walls the bullet will punch throu. Stay low. Fire one shot and don´t move. Even if you miss. Enemies will look out for you.
Than change your position and fire from another direction. Your a Ghost not a warrior. Let their fear work for you.

True, I forgot :(

And don´t forget to keep YOUR fighting distance. A Sniper is helpless trapped when the Enemy comes to close. Work with a friend as "Spotter", he will look out for every threats or targets. Staying allone is suicede. Trust each other, and you will finish your mission.

SOS scope - one mildot 50m , when aiming target lets see at 1786m , set zeroing at your weapon to 1700 and add the rest of distance from you mildots .

Quick range finding (not precise)
actual height of target x 1000 / mildots height on scope = your distance
size of mildot is 0.2
soldier = around 1.9m

M320 LRR .408 anti-materiel rifle with CheyTac (Cheetah) ammo round for precision long shots
GM6 Lynx 2.7×108 mm anti-material rifle with Armor Piercing rounds for targets in urban hideing targets or for taking down gunners inside armored vehicles

Sniper rifles shoot thru :
wood V
brick walls V
conrecte walls V
concrete corners and concrete post X
metal covered shacks,hangars V
sides of vehicles V
weels and engine side of vehi X
all windows in vehicles V

Basic RULES:
Stay low
MOVEMENT is first thing man can notice on distance
plan your route on map when dislocating
use as many forest , bushes etc as you can
DO NOT go for open field or top of the hills
DO NOT use obvious spots ( towers , single buildings, rocks, bushes and trees etc)
Before shooting anyone scan area in 360'
Plan your fall back route
Try set your sniping position with sun at your back
At your sniping position , check and remember distances on some spots (where target can move , hide , take cover - it will save your time checking distance)
Observe target , his movement etc , choose perfect time for taking a shoot
when you miss do not shoot again , wait till target drop his guard (when movement can be spotted) or relocate your position (when in cover)
PRACTICE PRACTICE and PRACTICE

Just don't get caught. Before you go on multiplayer set up scenarios in the editor where you are shooting targets from a multitude of distances and angles. Get comfortable with a rifle. Know what loadout works best for you but don't overburden yourself, you'll just end up trying to line up a shot with an extremely wavey scope - on top of that try to move in short intervals between places of cover. It's doesn't had to be hard cover at all, use defilade as much as possible and DO NOT silhouette yourself on the horizon when trying to get to a high vantage point you're figuratively a walking target at that point. Also, don't shoot if there's a big chance that you'll miss i.e. moving targets. Only try to shoot a moving target if it's your last chance at hitting him - if you've got an all round view of the area and there's nowhere for him to disspear from sight just wait.
