Its a comms mod,Task force radio, so when you yalk in game only in ppl around you hear, then you have short range radios and long range radios, and all works very similar to RL,even drops out over dist, stops the majical abillity of side and global chat.

Takes 2 mins to install TS and if ppl are asking you to jumop on its prob a half decent server.

Maybe if I was in a clan that did "missions" and the sort.. but just random coop servers, naa.

why not 2 min set up 100percent increased efficiency and immersion, comms are a massive part of playing coop.

The in-game VON is generally bad because people don't know how to utilize it properly, on top of it also running into latency issues and other sound issues. I personally utilize both as needed, I push TeamSpeak because it eases up comms on a visual level on my end, and sounds much, much better then the in-game VON. It's not that difficult to use TeamSpeak, it's been in use for years, it's just like IRC, it's been around forever and people enjoy it because it works well. You have a lot more control over the voice traffic using TeamSpeak.

unfortunately VON is 'still' broken on servers with more than 30-50 players,
channels GLOBAL and SIDE ...
that's one of reasons it's not as popular as it was before the bug ...(still WIP on fix)

another reason is that the control over channels isn't as great
and there is no priority speaker etc.

Mumble and TS3 surpassed VON in last year in terms of audio quality, preventing dropouts and so on ...

there is no ETA on improvements tho we will look into it at some point

Sorry, can't do that! The VON in ArmA 3 is totally borked ATM and even when it does work, everyone tends to flood Side and Global with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about their cat or what they're watching on TV.

TS3 and ACRE or TFAR all the way!
