Arma 3

Why gore sucks so much in this game?
I mean it's meant to be a realistic [edit] (some people got butthurt when I said simulator) but in this game you get hit by explosions and nothing happens just poor detailed blood on you.

WHY NO GIBS?

[EDIT] Arma 3 is trying to be realistic but yet doesn't have good wounding system.
[EDIT] Really guys, read comments or don't even post your nonsense because by saying gore I do not mean that there must be lots of blood, people exploding into peaces, no I want more realistic wounding system and maybe some (ONLY SOME) parts of the body that could be torn off by explosions.

I don't understand why you're all being so negative. ArmA, ever since the days of OFP (Been playing their games since 2001), has been a title that is unforgiving, rewards your sharpness and intelligence on the battlefield (in a team effort of course, you're no one man army), while still providing some concessions to gameplay. Gore is a reality of war and conflict, it's not unfitting for the series. If it can be done well, it should be in the game. VBS is not very different from Armed Assault. The bricks are simply laid in a different manner to create a different end result if you will. What works for VBS, generally speaking, will work for Armed Assault. It's all just a matter of getting the work done.

Of course it wouldn't happen like this, but you all should try being a little more opened minded towards these things. How is this at all Cod like? How is authenticity ever a bad thing? Especially in a title like this? All of the equipment may be "twenty minutes into the future", and fantasy, but the way they kill and maim is anything but fantasy. "What works in VBS doesn't necessarily work in ArmA" has to be the biggest load of crap I've ever read. Back in the OFP and ArmA I days, especially OFP, it was considered an absolute pipe dream that melee weapons would ever be a thing. That jumping would ever be a thing. "The engine doesn't support it" was always the excuse.

I think through the years, the modders and developers have proven that the sky is the limit. I support this, but if it is done, it has to be done well. Quality is always paramount.

I agree, realism must be measured with blood and guts!!
VeganKebab Mar 5, 2015 @ 6:04am
I dont mean there must be a lot of limbs, blood, etc. but they should really work on units models and make some body parts which could fly away or explode by explosions because right now you get hit by an air strike and nothing happens.

Except the chances of someone's head or and other body part being blow off are tiny. If you have and anti-material sniper you don't go for the headshot, you go for center of mass. And this isn't some Michael Bay explosion-fest with buildings and cars that explode when you shoot them. If you want such a realistic gore system than try to explain why it would benefit gameplay or how it wouldn't be a huge waste of time to make.

I kind of agree with the OP. I would love to see someone get shredded with a .50 Cal like in Rambo.

Soldier of Fortune + Arma 3 = good?
i would like to see a super-realistic damage model that could manage things like temporary shock cavities and crippling injury, i sort of see these fitting together but gore for the sake of gore just seems unnesecary and a waste of time, unless prehaps you add realistic bleeding but thats the same as what i started with instead of the original suggestion

Yes your head can blow into parts just by AK 47 hitting directly into your head I wont even talk about higher caliber weapons and I didn't mention unnessecary gore, I wanted to have gore that really gives you 'real life' feeling like loosing leg on inpact with mines, loosing arms when hit by grenade.Dude dont tell me ♥♥♥♥ I know how explosives works, I'm soldier and you can watch lots of videos of Ukraine war, people loose their limbs by mortar shells exploding 100 meters away from them because of meterials flying towards them and in ARMA you wont give a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sh** even when airstrike hits you.

VBS, which is like Arma but with more features and customization that BIS sells to militaries for training purposes, has gore.

I think it would be nice, but the devs should focus on more important things for now.

Yes I saw that mod and it has a lot of great features just too bad its for Arma not Arma 3 because with Arma 3 engine it would look way better ;)

I agree, it pisses me off that my soldier runs all over the place but never has anything wrong with his feet. I WANT HIS FEET TO GET FRACTURES! WE WANT REALISM!

possibly takin it too far.....

Everyone already ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about the amount of lag and loss of framerates that we get on just vanilla. Think of the reprecussions of adding the particle effects and other things associated with the gore you are requesting. Now add that to a KOTH server or any other heavily modded/scripted server where you already get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ fps. Sadly, the devs cannot please everyone equally, be happy to get what you get. Let them fix the issues that already there before begging for features that are not really needed at the moment.

If you want a more detailed type of medical system, check out the mod Combat Space Enhancement(CSE) or even MCCS 4. CSE has a really indepth medical system, but it still has a few bugs. If your not experimenting with mods, your missing out.

Thing is, the only CoD I can think of with dismemberment is WaW. I think there is another newer, worse CoD game with dismemberment though...
