Arma 3
i5 12400f or Ryzen 7 5700X3D
I currently get 45 avg fps with my i3 12400f CPU system at my current settings. I have the option of upgrading to either a i5 12400f or a Ryzen 7 5700X3D for more of an outlay.

What increase in perforce can I expect expect with either CPU? I suspect the question is does Ryzen outperform the i5 enough to justify the increased cost.

I have 16gb ddr400 3200 Ram and a 3060 12gb to go with the CPU.

It's very likely what you're play is the cause of the poor performance and not your hardware, meaning even if you upgraded the performance gain will be tiny.

Neither wlll help much. If you want a pc for arma, wait for arma 4 instead.

Game benefits from a single core strenght. In that case 5700x3d will be better because of X3D chip. But dont expect difference to be enough to justify an upgrade.

Sadly "arma" 4 is planned to be released on the consoles first and mainly to be a console based game with no editor or sp content.

Not sure where you heard that, but it's certainly not true, have you not seen Reforger?

So many people speaking out of their asses here.

In the next ARMA 3 update there will be decent multithreading support.
You can already play 60+/90+ or even higher fps on Arma 3 perfomance branch depending on your PC specs

Get good PC and enjoy smooth perfomance. Ryzen shall be good choice with next update.
