Report a translation problem
1 - Create a game and make sure you pick Internet over Lan
2 - Invite your friend through the steam interface, it will fail, but it should also pop up a widow for him telling "server not responding" with the IP of your game and other info.
3 - In the multiplayer screen, bottom right should be a button called "Remote", go in there
4 - Paste in there the IP of the game and the port, that uses to be 2302 by default, and then it should connect.
Just had the same problem and got it solved this way not even a day ago.
apologies if this is hard to follow, but i assume it should make sense once you see it.
You're suppose to do the dev's jobs for them. You see, a true patrician gamer hates games with competent multiplayer implementation. Only scrubs buy games with the intention of enjoying themselves. There's always single player, which is also janky as all hell.
